We are new to Disney Cruising. We want to book a cruise for this November. We are thinking of booking it through allseastravel. Anyone have experience with them?

Do most of you add on the transportation with your cruise? Or do you find your own i.e. rental car? $69 per person/$345 for transportation seems high to me. Is the convenience worth it?

Same with insurance -- is it advisable to just go ahead and get your insurance through the TA?

Thanks for any help you can offer. We really want to get this trip booked this week.

If you are trying to save money, the cheaper alternative is to rent a car or minivan for two one way rentals from MCO to port and port to MCO. There are several car rental agencies listed on Dave's site www.dcltribute.com. He has the codes to booking one way rentals. We usually get a full size car for the four of us for about $50 each way.

I'm always open to saving money ;-) But I also want to do whatever is more convenient. Is it more of a hassle to rent your own car and make sure your luggage makes it on board the ship, etc.

We used Allseasons & will use them again. Great customer service & great prices.

We rented a car from Budget, using the 2 - one way rentals. Worked out very well & very simple to do.

There are many options when it comes to insurance. Some people insure it through the TA others do it on their own. Allseasons insurance is pretty reasonable, not sure who they use for the insurance.

I originally booked thru AllSeas and then cancelled (it had nothing to do with them!). They were great on both sides of the reservation, even the cancellation!

When in Nov are you going? We have a great group of Dis'ers on Nov 13 Eastern. If you book for then, look us up under CruiseMeets!!!

Happy Planning! :Pinkbounc :earsgirl: :earsboy:

And I'm going on the November 27th Eastern. :wave2:

and are leaving Sunday on the Wonder. Everyone I dealt with at All Seas were great. We rented a car thru Budget for the day before and then made arrangements (just about an hour ago) thru All Seas for a towncar to bring us back to the airport from the port ... a surprise treat for my family! I'll use them again and again ...
Good luck!

Are you planning a cruise only? Or a land/sea package? I imagine that would make a difference in which options people here would recommend to you.

I ask because Disney charges $69 for transfers on the land/sea packages...if you are going cruise only it should only cost $49/person.

How many are in your group?

Dreams Unlimited had the best price for our cruise. Also found a great rate at vacationstogo.com. We're renting a car each way, there's 6 of us. Not only will this save us money but we can do things at our pace. We'll be arriving on Thursday night, doing 7 night cruise on Saturday. So we need a car for Fri.

It couldn't be easier to rent a car and get to the port. The rental cars agencies at MCO are in the terminal and the cars are right at the airport. We drive to the port and drop our luggage at the terminal and we stay there and check in. WHile we are checking in, DH returns the rental car to the agency and takes the shuttle back to the terminal. There are very few if any hassles.

Tracey -- there are 5 of us total (my husband, myself and 3 kids) We are going to be doing the land/sea package. We are pretty certain we will be staying at the Beach Club for the 3 day land portion of the trip.

I did submit for a quote from Dreams Unlimited today. The quote they sent back to me ends up being just $5.75 more than All Seas Travel. Sitting here wondering if I should call our AAA office tomorrow to see what they come up. Or is it safe to assume that most places are going to come in around the same amount? We are booking our own flight -- have discovered that we can get a much better rate doing that on our own. Thanks for any help you can offer. It has been a long time since we have planned a vacation like this.

Booking your own flight was a good idea!

Have you checked out Mousesavers.com yet? That is where I found the best deal on a rental car for our Disney trip in February. We had it for 10 days for around $180 through National's Emerald Aisle which is VERY convenient--you don't even need to go to the counter, just go from baggage claim to the aisle, choose the car you want from what's available (we got a Buick Rendevous) and drive away. (Show the attendant at the gate your id and you're on your way!)

5 people x $69 = $345!!! You could easily rent a car, even if you parked it at Port and paid parking during the cruise, for less than that. You may also want to look into a towncar if you don't want to drive.

Wow! I'll bet you're going to have SUCH a great time! I would love to stay at the Beach Club! :sunny:

Hi- we're going on our first cruise in august. I used mouseearvacations.com and received a quote by email. Tim Larrison is our travel agent through mouseears and he has been very helpful. I have shopped around and found that the earlier you book, seems to be the best price.....it's all expensive but everyone says it is well worth it!
