A local radio station has what they called "The 5 Question Quiz". 4 of the 5 questions have been consistently answered for the last couple of weeks. Question 2 seems to have stumped the daily contestant.

"San Antonio may think it smells like a rose by having one of these"

The Alamo Bowl, Botanical Garden, Automatic Garbage Pickup, Riverwalk have all been guessed, plus a few more I can't remember right now.

$5/day is added until somebody gets it. Tomorrow will be $472. To give you an idea of how long this contest has been running, they started at $97! LOL

Here are all 5 of the questions:

1. People may think they are individual, but there are 5 basic types. What are they?
2. The San Antonio question above
3. Maine is the only state in the lower 48 that does this.
4. The average person does this daily
5. This person can cook, but enjoys a Papa John's pizza. Black and blue are their favorite color, but is not in relation to a chipped tooth. Who is it?

Question 2 is the sticker. HELP. I could use that $ for my Disney fund in October!

Thanks in advance.......
:wave2:

I may be reaching but does it have anything to do with the song- "The Yellow Rose of Texas" ?

Somebody guessed that already and I thought of another one. somebody guessed a city ordinance for no smoking.

Thanks anyway!

The Rose Bowl is in Pasadena :) There's a song called "San Antonio Rose."

sorry...I know absolutely nothing about football (except a few things)...I'm stupid and yet I'm not a blonde...:p

LOL......I know mostly because of the parade...don't watch much college ball.

Maybe it's a Spanish word for a place or event that refers to a flower. Is there something like that in SA?

I read about something called "The Little Flower Beautification Project" and the Bastilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower when I checked out a few things on Google. Any of those been tried?

We must have done the same thing....I was trying a search but could not find anything specific! I am not familiar with that area, tho'!

I haven't heard about the parade or the flower project. Hmmmm.......

I just knew the one about not smoking was the one.

Thanks

PS - CdnDsnyNut - I'll post the answers to the other 4 tomorrow in case some others read tonight.

:bounce: $477 for tomorrow, but I'm out of town. Maybe somebody can come up with answer and I can get Monday when it's $482! :bounce:

Not from the area. FWIW Malik Rose plays for the San Antonio Spurs. Couldn't really find a good answer to the question after searching on the internet. Good Luck.

Maybe the person who said Rose Bowl is on to something. The Alamo Bowl is played in San Antonio, and since the Rose Bowl is the grand daddy all bolw games, perhaps the answers is they have a College Football bowl game.

oops, just noticed that the Alamo Bowl has already been guessed

Battle of Flowers Parade

The Battle of Flowers Parade is the event that launched San Antonio's Fiesta. In 1891, a group of ladies decorated horse-drawn carriages to parade in front of the Alamo, and showered each other with flower blossoms. The Parade was organized to honor the heroes from the battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto.

The Battle of Flowers Parade begins in an explosion of color with splendid cavalcades and flying flags that announce the fun to come. The parade takes place on Friday, April 23, and includes spectacular floats carrying costumed Fiesta royalty interspersed with flower-bedecked antique cars and carriages. Giant helium balloons fly through the air accompanied by the music of military and high school bands. More than 375,000 attend and the entertainment provides fun for the entire family. The Battle of Flowers Parade was the founding event of Fiesta® San Antonio. In 1891 the community turned out to watch San Antonio ladies pelt each other with flowers as they paraded in front of the Alamo in horse-drawn carriages.

Some of the most striking participants in this parade are the queen and princesses of the Order of the Alamo. Their exquisite gowns, crowns, and trains are covered in jewels and beadwork and date from the early 1900s.

Thanks for the responses.

I think everything suggested has been guessed with the exception of the Spurs player (the Spurs themselves have been guessed) and the Battle of the Flowers Parade.

Man, I'd like to get this money. Huge tree limb fell on house a couple of weeks ago and my deductible is $500. Straight out of the old vacation fund! No one hurt and house already repaired, so things could have definitely been worse!

FYI, the answers to the others are
1. fingerprints
2. ???
3. Only state to touch 1 other state
4. Falls asleep in 7 minutes
5. Rob Thomas

THANKS!
