Hi,

My husband and I have a lot of DVC points left from a canceled cruise - these points can no longer be used for DVC resorts. We have already booked the Backstage Magic California Tour for May 2008.

We are now debating between using the remainder of the points for the Spirit of America tour (if it is still available) or a stay at the Polynesian resort.

Can anyone give opinions of this tour? A small art of me is worried that it will be like a school field trip and not that much fun. Another part of me says that it is run by disney so it will be fun and that as DVC owners we will have many trips to WDW in the future. I think it will also be less expensive to book the Spirit of America tour since we will not need to renew our annual passes and some meals are included.

Any opinions on tat tour would be appreciated. Thanks!

We have not been on this tour but there is a great trip report on here that a DISer wrote very recently. I cant seem to find it but it was posted in the past 2 months. She went with her kids but w/o her DH and had great feedback to share.

The point price for this trip is very reasonable (cheapest on the chart) so it seems that it would be worth a try. It is Disney afterall so how can you go wrong! ;) :goodvibes

I never quite finished the report -- life gets in the way! LOL! We've had a Confirmation (16dd), wedding out of the country (24dd), two of the kids in a play at a Comunity theater (9ds & 16dd) and dh decided we needed to move and it is a new home that I am spending at least one full daya week picking out *stuff* -- granite, tiles, plumbing,etc...... :rotfl: :rotfl:

The link to the report is in my siggie! I hope it helps! It was a fantiastic trip!!!

Thanks for the replies. We have booked Spirit of America trip.

Your trip report was helpful - I can't wait to read more if you ever get a chance to finish it.

Our one other concerrn has to do with the menu choices at the group meals. My husband and I do not eat any fish/seafood, lamb, duck, etc. - we generally eat meats such as chicken, beef, and pork. Will there be options for us or are the menus very limited?

Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

We went on the same trip as StephT5 and you guys will have a great time! The choices are somewhat limited, but there's always some variation of chicken, beef or pork to choose from, so you guys should be fine. There are some buffets and some table service meals, but you should be able to find one selection that agrees with you...

I have been to all of these locations they are going to stop and I am sure it will be fun. History at it finest. One suggestion, purchase a PassPort book from the Liberty gift shop for all the national parks in America and then get them stamped at each location and purchase the stamps they sell, we take these everywhere now and the kids want to fill it up with all the stamps. Something they can have for the rest of their lives. pirate:

as stated above there was a very nice trip report for this a few months back.she had a wonderful time.
