Help with signature/avatar

Hi all - please forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong place. I am wanting to post a personal picture or two for my signature and/or avatar and I can't for the life of me make it work. I have signed up with photobucket and uploaded the desired pictures. When I tried to modify my avatar it tells me either that the picture is too big or that the URL is not correct. I tried reducing the picture through photobucket, but it didn't help. I haven't tried the signature yet, assuming I'll ahve the same problem. Can anyone help this poor technologically challened soul?

I can help. Send me the files and I will resize them.

I had the hardest time getting my palm picture to a small enough file size. I had one side down to about 30 which made the picture about 3 mm wide and it was still about 19 megs. Way to big. Then I did a save for web and it worked great. Small file size and still pretty clear.

but that was for the avatar under my name.

photos in your sig are hosted on your site and can be bigger. When I get home I can help with how to post a pic in your sig.

Mike - Thanks for the tip that the pic for the signature can be bigger - it now looks like I may have made one small enough to be inserted into the signature, which would be enough to make me happy. BUT, when I copied the URL from photobucket and inserted it into my sig, all it did was just put the web address there - not the actual picture. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Sure. This site uses HTML codes to do the web tricks (I think, I am just learning as well).

Photobucket has three different options below the picture, correct? Choose the one that has

at the end. That is what tells the web page to show the picture not the URL to the picture.

You can re-enter the line or edit the line you have already inserted. Add the

at the end. Make sure there are no spaces and that you remove any other coding like form the front and back. anothe...ton. let me know if that works. Mikeeee
