Help with route?

We are driving 95S on a Thursday Evening (late). We are traveling Thursday evening from Northern NJ to Disney. We plan to leave around 4pm which should put us in the DC area around 9-10pm. At this time of the evening would you recommend going around DC (which all the maps say to do) or just staying on I95 which seems to be the shortest route.

Don't want to get caught up in the traffic but think that at that time of the evening it shouldn't be that bad.

Any suggestions?

I'd say just stay on I95S at that point. I495 going the other way still has construction woes, and is a longer distance to travel. Barring a guy trying to jump of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, it will be a shorter trip on I95S.
