Hi,
I am looking for some help with booking a rental car. I have only booked a rental car once and that was years ago. We are flying into Sanford around 8PM on Sunday April 24th and flying out on Friday April 29th and will be returning the rental at about 8PM that day also. It is only 2 of us so anything will work as long as it has air. We are looking for as cheap as possible. What is our best option?
Thanks in advance..

Are you a Costco member? They do all the dirty work for you in locating cheap rentals. They work with Alamo, enterprise, Avis and budget. Free cancels and extra driver included. I had booked a flight into Tampa and return flight out of Orlando and booked a standard suv. Price last week was almost $500. Looked at prices again this past Thursday and priced dropped to $375. Looked again last night and they were $310. I will keep checking and rebooking until my trip in March. I know this may not work for you if you don't have a membership, but if you have a store near you, you can sign up for the cheapest membership which is $55, and get car rental savings right away. They had compact cars for about $200 last night, so spending $55 for a membership might be worth it. Also, with Costco, you can cancel your membership for a full refund at any time.

I do not work for Costco, I have just gotten great deals. :)

Hope this helps a little bit.

Just watch the timing of your Pick up & Return times.

You arrive at 8pm so collect car at 8.30 ..... depart at 8pm ..... so hand back car at 6.30 latest

That way you avoid paying for extra day

Go to expedia and do a search for rental cars. That's the best way to see prices all in one place. And yes, there are some great deals through Costco.

I like carrentalsavers.com. I just ran your dates and I found Advantage, economy size at $229.92 (all fees included). My experience is to book something you can deal with price wise then keep checking constantly. I had really wanted to be at $200 for our trip and I finally found one for $165 and I was lucky to catch it. I noticed it, and reserved it, at about 11pm a few nights before our trip and the next morning when I checked at 8am it was back up over $200. I would literally check morning, noon and night leading up to the trip and I was glad I did!

Oh man, that website is an honest Godsend. I found one rental car through Enterprise a few months ago at $227.29. Then a few days later, I found Advantage at $207.87. However, my boyfriend ended up finding a $183.65 priced car at Ace Rent-a-car (I have no idea who they are) through Expedia. But saving money, yay!

Totally recommend carrentalsavers.com, yes.

EDIT: Apologies, it's not carrentalsavers.com (I looked here and keep getting the links confused) that I recommend, it's rentalcars.com.
