Help with Pink Minnie Party

Hi Dolly,

Thank you so much for everything.. I've started printing things out. I have a quick question. I am using your invite, and I've customized the Mouse head, but I wanted to know how you insert the picture. I've got Photoshop E 8, but I'm a novice on it. I've tried it in photoshop and in word, and I can't seem to get it.. HELP!!!..

Hopefully this will make some sense...

I added a new invite in the "minnie" file that says "invite png". Click on the thumbnail image of the invite...when the next screen pops up click on the "download" button. Make sure you save it as a png. Then open it up in your photoshop...the space where you want to insert the picture should be blank (it will look like a light gray and white checkerboard).

Next...there should be a large toolbar on the right of your screen. Look in the middle of the toolbar for a section called "layers". There should be a small picture of the invite. Make sure the layer is not locked. You can do this by double clicking on the small image and a popup will open up. Click "okay" on the popup and the layer should be unlocked.

Now you will need to open up the picture you want to insert into the invitation, and unlock the picture. Next on the toolbar on the left side of the screen you will want to click on the "move tool". Left click and hold down the mouse button on top of the picture and drag it on top of the invite. Once you move the picture on top of the invite, you can drag the corners of the picture in and out to make it smaller or bigger.

When you have the picture to where you think it will fit in the open space...go to the "layers" bar and left click and hold down the button on the invitation and drag it on top of the picture so that the picture shows up behind the invitation.

Hope that makes sense. If you need more help...send me a pm.

Thanks Dolly.. It does make sense.. I'll try that tonight... I think I was stuck on the layers.. Photoshop is totally different for me.. I need a book.. LOL..

Thanks again.. Hope your vacation is fun...

That is a really tall order as it takes time to make each item and it would take me a couple of days to get all of that made. My plate is really full right now. Hopefully you can use the pink and white items or the red and white polka dot items that I have already made.

Thanks for the response and I understand. Her birthday isn't for another two months so I will try to figure something out with what you already have. Thanks again :-)

Thanks Dolly... again.. The Photoshop tip worked.. I got them all done. I have to finish printing and cutting out.. I'll post pics..

Thank you again... All your hard work is much appreciated..

Hi Dolly! I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything that you make! Can I get the minnie party stuff that says Macy in the name Olivia? Thanks so much!!!

I am really swamped right now but if you can pick 2-3 things I can personalize them for you. Look in my 4shared file and give me the name of the item.

I just wanted to share the final product of the designs you did. My daughter loved the Minnie Mouse stuff..

I appreciate all your hard work.. I'm going to be using your WS word pages to make some tshirts for her this fall.. You guys Rock!!!

Your Welcome.. Thank You!!

I got the idea from the one of the posts in this thread. I took 2 different sizes of styrophom balls and spray painted them with sparkle black spray paint. Then used tooth pics to stick the ears on. I made a big bow and put it on top. I think it turned out really cute. I used the word instructions and put on the Thank you for celebrating E's Bday.. It was super easy to do.. I think I'm hooked.. I've been working on planning pages in word so you can type your info.. I'm so anal that way.. Writing is messy.. HA HA HA.. I just might have to invest in Photoshop..

Thanks for your hard work. :hippie: The Photoshop invite turned out really cute too..

Thanks so much for sharing all these resources. I used your Minnie candy wrappers, youre minnie heads. Im making a black zebra/hotpink party. Everything looks superb. Ill be glad to share pics if someone can tell me how to post them. I also made minne ears with ribbon, felt, and black headbands if anyone is interested in knowing how to do that please let me know!! :goodvibes

Where did you find your styrofoam balls? Everywhere I look, they are super expensive. Also, did you super glue the bow on top?

How are you guys making the Tshirts? Do you print them on fabric or something? Hope you can help. Thanks!

You can purchase t-shirt transfer paper at walmart, arts and crafts stores like Michaels and Hobby Lobby, and office supply stores. Avery is a name for one brand. The best ones come from Amy Mickey. Then you print onto the transfer paper, trim and iron on to the t-shirt. Hope that helps!

You can not post pictures directly to a post. Here is what you can do to show off your great t-shirts and items that you made:

• Get a free photobucket account at www.photobucket.com.
• Then upload your pictures to there.
• Once they are uploaded click on the "share" button just above the picture.
• Then click on the "get link code" button.
• Finally, click once on the IMG code then righT click to copy and paste it into this thread.
• Then your pictures will show up when you want to post them.

I hope you see this post. I would love to see some of your pics!

I did not make the styrofoam Minnie heads so I can't tell you if there is a good place to find them. Sorry. Try sending a pm to Meezoogirl....she made them and posted some pics on this thread.

I bought a 4 pack of small balls/ then two medium size balls at Michaels. I think it was about $5.00 for all of them. Be careful when spray painting. If you get too close, the paint will eat the balls.. Use several light coats until it's black.. I used picks for the ears. I used floral wires with picks for the bow. Wired the bow to the pick and then stuck it in. Glue melted the styrophom...

It turned out really cute.. I found a small bowl at Target. Filled it up with pink rafia then put the heads in..

Ok, I just love all the birthday ideas. My questions is: How do you cut out all these designs, do you just use scissors. I'm not very good at cutting around edges and was hopeful there is some trick I just don't know about.

It was a lot of cutting. I bought a really good pair of small scissors.. I also used an exacto knife on part of it. I would just plan exactly what you need. I cut out a lot of stuff that I didn't need to. I would just sit and cut out a few at a time. Really took my time. Since a lot of it is black, it is really forgiving on cutting it out..

To make the banner really easy, I used an exacto knife and cut slits in the ears, and then threaded the ribbon through. It was super easy.. and my daughter still has it hanging in her bedroom.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to buy me a pair of small scissors and give it a try. I'm doing my little girl's b'day party in pink minnie and i'm going to use a lot of these ideas. They are just great.
