I am in the beginning stages of planning a trip around June 22nd. I have gone to WDW many times, but to DL once in 1970 (start doing the math!). Needless to say, I remember very little of that trip! I plan on concentrating on things that are different than WDW and cannot do rides like space mountain, matterhorn, tot and cal screaming. I can't figure out if I need 3 or 4 days at the parks.
My plan is to go to the parks at opening and go back in the afternoon for a break. I will go back in the evening. Since it will be high season, I wonder if it would be better for me to splurge and stay at one of the hotels for early entrance or if I should save money, stay off site and go to the park that doesn't have early entrance.
So what are your suggestions- 3 or 4 days and should I stay at a disney hotel? If I go off site, I was thinking of staying at the Candy Cane.
thanks

First check out the famous DLR Guide for WDW vets. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1162599

Our favorite time to go is in July. We stay at the Candy Cane each time and decided we would rather spend the money to stay longer than pay more to stay on site. We do not get any early entrees but start the day at the park without it. We are there at gate opening. We can always get a lot done first thing in the morning.

We get APs and go for 6 days (blocked out on Sat). We also go back for a nap in the afternoon. We have found that 3 or 4 days is not enough for us.
The only things I can think of off the top of my head that are exactly the same at WDW is Soarin and Star Tours. Others might be similar but slightly different.

Four days. You will need all of them.

Pay attention to grad nights. Not sure if they will be done by then. "The Scoop on Grad Nights at DLR in May and June" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2298400

Pay attention to AP blockouts in June. "Understanding AP Blockouts and Impact on Crowds" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2365983

Pay attention to DL's 60th anniversary. It will bump crowds up - especially by local AP holders before the blockout. "What to expect for DL's 60th anniversary in 2015" - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3280301

Thanks guys. I will plan on spending four or five days there. Do you know when grad nights will be announce? I was basing my days on last years info. Any info yet for the 60th? I am so out of the loop for Disneyland.

Thanks
