Hi, my DH & DS are planning on attending the landscaping/garden expo in Louisville in October. They are not going to be renting a car, so I am looking for suggestions on hotels that would be in close proximity to the expo center.

Also looking for good restaurants in the area, as well as something for them to do on Thursday and Friday night since the show closes at 5:00PM.

TIA

We just stayed in Louisville in July. The expo center is just north of the airport, and we stayed at one of the hotels right there on Phillips Lane north of the airport also at a Comfort Inn, which was okay. There were several hotels right there, the Executive Inn (very nice) and a couple others. I would do a search by airport hotels and that should bring them all up. We picked up a brochure in the hotel lobby that listed things to do in Louisville but don't know what I did with it! Actually we drove in on I-264 and the exit we took listed the airport as well as the expo center.

There are several hotels on Phillips Ln, but there really isn't anything to eat. A few fast food joints would be about 1/2-3/4 of a mile away on Preston Highway. They would also have Pizza/Chinese delivery as an option. I am unsure if a bus is an option, and a cab ride to something decent would be some dollars.

Any reason why they do not want to rent a car? I frequently get rentals for $50 for 3 days out of Lexington or Louisville. It would be easier IMO.
