Help with excursions!!????

Hi,
I need some opinions on excursions for the western caribbean. I was going to do the stingray feeding and the dolphin encounter, but I have heard about paradise island and now I'm rethinking the dolphin encounter. Is it really worth it to do the dolphin encounter? Its just me (mom) and my son (9 yrs) going.
HELP???!!!!

When I called to booke excursions for our trip, DD7, the disney operator I spke to said that the Dolphin encounter isn't really worth the time and money. You stand on a platform, get to feed and hug the dolphin and then it is over. So unless the encounter is getting to get to "swim" it doesn't sound worth it. She reccommended Stingray city.

We were under-impressed with the Dolphin Encounter we did. It was a deal of get in the water and the dolphin swims over to you...but you don't actually swim with the dolphin. You are specifically told not to move.

The dolphin deal at Discovery Cove (a sister park to Sea World) is MUCH better. It is a whole day...30 minutes of swimming with a dolphin (we were 8 people to one dolphin with a trainer) with a 15 minute instruction/orientation session before. The rest of the day, you can snorkel in their "coral reef", do a lazy river tube thing, feed stingrays, birds, and small animals, etc. It costs about $200 for the day, but is "all inclusive" meaning lunch, wet suit, food for animals, etc. It is about $100 if you don't do the dolphin thing. It also includes a week's pass to Sea WOrld.

thanks for the info, any other suggestions for cozumel? I have heard the chakanab park is great and that is suppose to be where the dolphin thing is. I'm getting a bit overwelmed with what to do.
