First, where do you live? What's the weather like? What is your work/stay at home situation. What shoes do you typically wear during the day?
The body's best time to absorb moisture is at night. (Face, hands, feet, etc.) This is why a lot of the high-end moisturizing companies make "night time" creams.
On that note, I personally do not care to have lotion and socks on my feet all night. So what I do, when I go to work, I wear knee hi's (since I usually wear slacks to work) and I rub lotion into my feet just before putting on my knee-hi's. By the time I'm home from work, they're a different pair of feet! Really!
However, if you live where you can wear sandals and flip flops all the time, or if you're at home with your shoes off a lot, the night-time remedies may work better for you.
