Just received a ding for my flights in December. I can save $60, but I never changed a flight to a ding fare just rescheduled for a lower price. When you do that you do not need to cancel your existing flight. If I understand this correctly, I need to cancel my flight and rebook? What makes me a little nervous is that it says on the site that travel funds may not be available immediately for rebooking. How long does it take for them to make the funds available. I'm trying to decide if it is worth the risk. It would cost me a lot more if I lose the ding fare and have to rebook , it would be almost double what I have now. Has any one lost the ding fare because the funds were not available soon enough?
I called SW and they said if they cancelled the flight the funds are available immediately. In case any one else is interested they said it is better to let them cancel because you don't know how long it will take for the funds to be available. Gotta love SW.
