Hey Scrappers, I was hoping to get a few inspirations and opinions from you fabulous scrappers!

A little background info:
My anniversary with my fiance is December 20 (quicky approaching.. I'm a little late getting started). We've known each other 8 years and have been dating for 4 years. We are getting married May 2009 (  ).

Now, I'd like to *finally* make him a scrapbook for our anniversary, including all of our pictures from 8 or so years ago. What I really need from you guys is some help: does anyone have ideas about how to do this? Theme? Organization? Layout ideas? Pictures? Have you done something similar? Etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I plan on getting started this weekend when he's at work (the scrapbook will be a surprise, shh!)

Thanks so much!!

Start by sorting your photos

There are a few ways you can go, but I find I have to have the photos in my hands before a direction emerges. You could go by year as your relationship grew. But you could also go by theme or by event. Until you play with your photos, you won't see what 'pattern' emerges. What 'story' do you want to tell about your relationship? Or is it a story about 'him' and why you love him?

There's a good planning spreadsheet in the 'downloads' section of www.simplescrapbooksmag.com

Thanks LindaBabe!!

Anymore info would be greatly appreciated.

I do all my stuff in date order, but you have 8 yrs & little time. I'd probably do major events/holidays & trips & things that are special to the two of you. I agree, get all your photos together & sort them as to what you want to do.

I'm not sure if this would work for you, but I did do something similar for DH once. Music has always been a big part of our relationship, so I did an album and a CD together - each layout had different song lyrics that were significant to us and fit well with whatever photos I used. There were a few pages that didn't have photos - just lyrics and journalling. Then I burned all the songs onto CD and included that in a pocket in the back of the book.

I posted it on Two Peas way back when if you want to take a look (each layout is 2 pages - the 2nd doesn't show up on the slideshow - you have to click the titles down the bottom to get to both pages.)

I made an album for my husband on our one year anniversary. It was a little
5 by 7 album. On one side of the page I put a picture, on the other side I wrote. I started each with I love that...

Examples Picture of our wedding day/ I love that I married my best friend and our love grows more each day.

Picture of honeymoon at disney/ I love that your first trip to Disney was with me and the you had so much fun even when you didn't want to go.

Picture of him painting house/ I love that we worked on our house together this year and can't wait to work on it more each year.

I did about ten pictures with writings. It was nothing fancy, but boy did he cry when he saw it. Each year I add some more, highlighting special memories and everyday things from the previous year. It really lets him know how much I appreciate him.

And even better I put the whole thing together in a day.

Thanks so much for the replies!

I have the pictures sorted and I think I am going to combine everyone's ideas- lyrics/quotes that mean something to us, major events (holidays, trips, etc), and then the "I love.." journalling .

Again, thanks Scrappers!
