Help! Where to stay if arriving LATE the night before??/

We usually stay on-property the first night, mostly at the moderates, before switching to DVC on points. Is "3 star" like the AAA 3-star, meaning clean and safe but not fancy, like a Holiday Inn? I don't want to share the room with insect visitors!

I would go to the AllStars but am concerned that a lot of the buildings could be miles from the parking lots -- anybody know about this? Are there bellhops available there?
