Help - What's it like in December??

We are condsidering a WDW trip this December, but I had a few questions. First of all, we went on our first family vacation last August/September and despite the hurricane, we had a great trip. There were little to no wait in the lines and the weather was great for the water parks and swimming in the pool.

My question is - how would a WDW trip be in December (early Dec. 4-11)? What is the weather like? How are the crowds? I know that last year there was a special on room rates (POFQ for $85), and wondered if this would happen again, and if so when does disney come out with specials for those dates? Any info would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

For the last 2 years it has been pretty decent weather. Its kind of cool in the AM so we brought sweatshirts to wear until about 10 or so. You could wear shorts and tank tops and be comfortable. It was never unbearably hot. It got very cool once the sun went down, where you would need pants and a sweatshirt. I think there may have been one day that I wore jeans and a sweatshirt all day long and maybe one day of rain.

We did manage to go swimming one day, but I think the only people in the pool were from up north.

As for crowds, MK is busy while they are filming the Christmas parade (should be on the 3rd and possibly 4th of Dec) but the people are mainly on Main Street for that. Otherwise, very short lines everywhere

WE are headed to WDW in December and what I have found is the weather is unpredictble year to year so I wait till about 7-10 days befor and check the weather to see what to bring.
Crouds are lesser in the begining of the month.

We went the beginning of December last year. We had a great time, the weather was lovely (I advice a thin jumper on a night) the parks were really empty so no lines longer than 20 mins. It was lovely to see the parks ready for Christmas.

Shopping at DtD was great too, with christmas singers outside the world of disney.

We go again this year on December 3rd for two weeks, and we cant wait

The more I read these posts the more I love/hate this board! Love it cause it's a great resource and everyone is kool, but hate it cause our trip is in Dec. (3-10)! That's like 4 months away!!! Can't wait!!

We are also looking at those dates and I just called disney and couldn't get POR at all, and for POFQ and CSR couldn't get CAA price only pay rack rate. I am so depressed. Where are you staying and did you get any special deals? Here's hoping for free dining to come out.

I went 2 AAA last week and booked it through them. Far as discounts, I don't think I really got any, I just about paid the same price as I did last year for 1 child and 1 adult. We r staying at CSR! I really enjoyed our time there last year. A good chunk of change is spent on our flight from CA. Flying from Orange County, CA to Orange County Florida! Tix for that ran me $770.00 round trip from John Wayne Airport to Orlando.

My only suggestion is try AAA, they may come up with something different.

I'll be arriving about the time you leave (Dec 9-18) and am doing a split stay between POFQ and CSR. I got a rate of $94.00/night through the Passholder's Best Rate Program and am hoping it comes down when/if they offer a general public code. Considering general codes have not been offered all year though, I'm not betting on it. From what I've read weather is variable in Dec and we should pack shorts as well as pants and fleece pullovers. Crowds are supposed to be minimal. I was there last January and it was hot every day except the last when it rained and we needed jackets.
