I am going to Vegas Memorial Day weekend with my sister to help plan her wedding for next July (2006).

I would like to stay at a nice hotel/timeshare. Are there any good time shares in Vegas (Marriot, Starwood, etc) and how would I rent a room? Are there rental boards somewhere?

Keep in mind you're going to pay big money for that weekend. Vegas on the weekends is always crowded and Memorial Weeked, even more so. Half of Southern California will be driving out to the desert.

I would definitely look at tug, or bidshares.com.

I am very partial to Polo Towers. I know DVC dropped them (I heard it was a "quality" issue). But, I really liked them a lot. They are in a great location, on the "good end" of the strip....okay, I know that is opinion....but, they are near The Belagio, MGM, Ceasar's, Paris, and the Venetian (as opposed to Circus Circus).

Hope you find a good one!!

You should be able to find a nice hotel on Beca's "good end" of the strip for $150-200 each weekend night. Monte Carlo always has good rates and a wonderful pool, and I love NYNY for a few dollars more good food and a fun vibe. I think you will want to stay on the strip, and there are a very few timeshares on the strip, none of which will have a casino and unlimites restaurants attached.
For a timeshare look at Polo Towers, HGVC at the Flamingo (great pool), or Fairfield Grand Desert (a few blocks from the strip with a free shuttle). Check tug or ebay, some good deals to be had there. Hotel Kingdom usually has some timeshares listed too. I know there are some cheap rooms for attending the presentation at some of the newer places like Fairfield and Grandview. Good luck, have a great time. Let me know if I can help, we'll be warming the town up for you the week of the 15th!
