Are the points you buy the same as annual dues? And do you pay anything else when you stay at a resort except for the points you have paid.

For example, you have 150 points and you pay whatever that costs. Then you stay at your selected resort. You just book and pay nothing else. Is that right?

Is that the value. The fact that you are locking in a rate into Disney properties? I have heard that the price for points increases about 3% a year. But is that only for new people buying in? Once you buy, does the price of your points stay the same? Hope this doesn't sound too stupid. Thanks.

Once you buy the points - at whatever price you pay when you buy - they are yours. You can pay cash, or finance - but the price for each point remains fixed at the amount you paid when you signed your paperwork.

There are annual dues that are different for each resort - so you dues are based on each resort individually. The dues can, and do, increase each year based on other costs through Disney. Dues are also price per point you own, so they are not a "fixed" amount to each person per year until you own a set amount of points.

Your guide can, and will be happy to, explain all of this. Once you buy your points and pay your annual dues, there are no further fees to stay at any of the DVC properties. There is a small excange fee if you use your points to stay outside of DVC properties.

Hi, Anna.
I think you are driving at the annual fees. Yes, in addition to the original purchase of the points, every year there is a per point maintenance fee (around $4.25/pt).
This covers everything from electricity, to housekeeping, to reserves for future maintenance, and so on. The fee also covers property taxes imposed by the county. :smokin:
