I'm trying to decide which location to have our dessert party. We like UK, but are unsure which is upper and which is lower. Does anyone have pics that would show which is which??? thanks!

also: for the dessert party, it says a charter bus is required. Is it really??? lol. What if every one of your guests has a park hopper and is already in the park that day? the charter bus would not be necessary...

and the 12.95$ viewing fee, is this for anyone who doesn't have a park hopper? or does this fee apply to everyone?

I don't have pics but according to MagicKingdoms.com, UK Lower has one of the better views of IllumiNations in the World Showcase. HTH!

I'm pretty sure that guests with a park hopper (or other valid ticket for Epcot for that day) do not have to pay the viewing fee.

I did see the fireworks from the UK terrace once and it was fantastic!! I think it was lower but I am not positive. Also there are lots of pics of the terraces on the mouse weddings site but they don't distinguish between upper and lower either. I think the view from all of the pictures looks great though.

Good luck with it!

Hi!

The viewing fee is only for guests who don't have park admission already, so if all your guests had hoppers/APS, you wouldn't have to pay. The bus can be negotiable - it depends on where you're having your reception and the location of your DP. UK is close enough to the International Gateway that they may let you all meet there and walk in.

We had our dessert party at UK Lower. It's the one with the metal railings. UK Upper is the one with the stucco wall and tables with umbrellas. JaxTeach & PrincessBride had their dessert parties there.

I *loved* UK Lower b/c it is very secluded - it's at the end of a winding garden path, completely separated from the main walkway. Here are some pix:

This is what we're doing. Karen and I talked about it at our planning session. After our Reception winds down at about 7ish, we are going to dismiss and reconvene at about 8:15 at the International Gateway to be escorted in to the UK Lower (Lochside).

lurkyloo-
Carrie, I so love your pics! I called the Roots and found out what dates they have open just so I could schedule my wedding around them...:lmao:

bayouprincess-
I want to meet my guest at the International Gateway as well for UK Lower. We are having the ceremony in France with reception at Italy Isola & then break. I dont want to have to charter them in for both. Holy expensive! I figure if they are not able to find the Gateway then they miss out & more dessert for me...:cool1: Granny will be bringing the ziplocls to take out whatever we dont eat...:rotfl:

I already bought my ziplocks to put in my boxes for the VR! LOL

We had our dessert party at UK Upper. I believe it is at the start of the winding path Lurkyloo is referring to.

Honestly Lower UK has the better view! BUT we chose Upper UK, because the site has several (5, 6 or 7) wrought iron tables with four chairs each. This is one of the few DP sites ( maybe the only site) that has tables and chairs. As such, you do NOT have to pay the outdoor set up fee of $75.

Because of the landscaping around the Upper UK, it also felt very secluded and private. It's just that you are about 15 to 25 feet away from the water, while Lochside (Lower UK) is right on the water.

Were having ours at the Lower UK. We also took an hour from our photo package and the photographer will be there to capture some photos...wish us luck!:bitelip:

Thanks for the help! It couldn't have come at a better time! I'm relieved to hear that the bus is negotiable, and that the viewing fee can be avoided as well. our thought was to have a DP in lieu of a rehearsal dinner to try adn save some money, but also have a really neat experience for our guests, but adding 12.95 , and a charter bus would just make it silly!!

Hmmmm, that is good to know... but i guess 75 bucks set up fee isn't all that bad considering the fantastic view you get by using lower UK... thanks for your help!!! I just couldn't figure out from mouseweddings.com which was which!!
