we are wanting to charter the stretch H2 from Happy Limo ( they seat 20 people ) and they sent me a contract which included :

Hours @ 200.00: 4.00
Basic Rate 800.00
WT: : 0.00
DRIVER'S FEE 160.00
TOTAL DUE 960.00

AND under ROUTING & PICKUP DETAILS it states that gratuity is not included.

does this sound correct to you guys?? should they be charging a drivers fee AND expect gratuity??

:confused3

I would give them a call and ask them to clarify. Best to get it straight from the source! They should have a toll-free number on their website.

I would give them a call just to verify but I work for a casino and we just got the H2 Limos in and I know that they had to train drivers on them and only certain drivers could do it. I don't know if that has something to do with it maybe they have to use specific drivers and thats the fee. I am just taking a guess. Let us know how it makes out. I would love to take a ride in an H2 limo or an H2 period :)

Amy,
Which casino? Fox or Sun?

Well I finally got around to calling Happy Limo today and they said that there is a drivers fee AND gratuity is at your descression. I would really like to charter this car, but I just cant justify 40% for a driver!! I don't mind tipping 20% to a driver, but why in the world am I having to pay a drivers fee?? Isn't that Happy Limos responsibility?

Please let me know what you guys would do if you were in my shoes!! I am having a hard time weighing the WANT agianst the COST.

If you want it, pay for it. if not, figure out your other options. If the gratuity isn't included, then I'd say you should budget for it--it's possible that the "driver's fee" doesn't go to the driver. THey really should give you a bottom line price not including gratuity.

Also, not sure where you are going with it, but it's possible that tolls aren't included either, and around central FL they can rack up quickly!

well, it isnt so much the money as the fact that Happy Limo expects me to pay their employees. :( I dont think i would be so irritated if there was a flat fee and then the tip.

Let's face it, when you pay a limo company (or any other company), you are ALWAYS paying their employees! And paying for their training and car repair and computers and whatever else goes into the business. This billing system might spell it out more than others do, but if they went to quoting you a flat fee, it'd be the same total. If you're ok with the total, go for it. If not, find another option. WDW will still be there either way, so all's good. :flower:

Good thing you called, when we used Happy Limo gratuity was included, I asked when I called and the response was, "Yes, but many still tip the drivers too" So when we were taken to the resort, and I was asked to sign the form, I again asked the driver "your tip is included?" he did hesitate, and said "yes" I still tipped him $5 (which added to the 15% included) :confused3

I admit to being 'tipping impaired'!!

Ok, I went to the website and they had gone down on their prices !!!!

*** Rates & Charges ****
Hours @ 175.00: 4.00
Basic Rate 700.00
DRIVER'S FEE 140.00
TOTAL DUE 840.00

with these rates i save $140 even with the driver getting 40% ( which i am still not happy about, but like you guys said "if you want it, pay for it" )

I just wanted to add that Happy Limo is no longer the only company in Orlando with H2 stretch limos. I've seen Skyy Limousine running both a white and a black H2 stretch. It's not listed on thier website, but I'm positive I saw both stretch limos with the SKYY plate on the front.

Edit:
After another search, another company also has an H2 Stretch:

I don't know much about the companies listed above, although Skyy is affiliated with Dream Coach, I know they've been around for awhile.
