DH & I want to surprise our boys with a trip to Disney the week before Christmas 12/18-12/24. With a trip to WDW that close to Christmas Santa won't be as generous usual on Christmas morning. We are trying to figure a way for the boys to recieve the trip "from Santa". We are actually hoping that the boys don't find out about the trip until we are well on our way down I-95. ;) Any suggestions/ideas/past experience?

P.S. My boys are 8 (may not actually believe but won't admit it) & 7 - a true believer.

Could you compose a note from Mickey to Santa for the boys to see on their way down? Something along the lines of...

Dear Santa,

I am so glad you are giving Dick and Jane a trip to Walt Disney World for Christmas. You know how busy I can be at the holidays (hey, who am I talking to about being busy??), so I am glad that you are sending them down here a week prior to the actual holiday. That way I will be sure to have some time to see them and pose for pictures. (I'm usually way to busy on the actual holiday to spend any time with my friends who come to visit WDW).

I am sure they will love their early Christmas gift and will make sure they are well taken care of down here in Florida.

Happy Holidays!

Mickey

P.S. I forgot to tell you in my last letter that Pluto has been very good all year long and would really like a nice new bone for Christmas.

If you still take your boys to see Santa at the Mall, maybe you could arrange for him to give the boys an envelope containing their park passes etc. He could just tell them that he wanted them to get their present early this year so that they could enjoy it before Christmas. If you're still planning on them getting a few things at Christmas, he could say something about that too.
Sounds wonderul! Have a great time planning and a magical trip!

The note from Mickey is a cute idea. If you have time, maybe you can use that as a scavenger hunt of sorts... Have them solve puzzles and navigate your way down, and it can be a "game from Santa" to play... Hmm, maybe I'll have to remember that when our DD's are a bit older (they are 2 and 6mos now). Maybe you could have the game continue through your visit and guide you to some special things to do as part of the trip. That way when it ends of Christmas eve, it was Santa's gift, just to get to that point.

The note from Mickey is a cute idea and having Santa (at the mall) give it to them is also a great idea.

I wouldn't be suspicious if Santa gave me a trip to WDW before Christmas. After all, Santa knows everything, right? I'm sure he had his elves research this thoroughly, so he knows the best week to go is the week before Christmas. Makes sense to me. He works all year on the Christmas gifts, he had lots of time to research :)

I'd do the Santa at the mall thing, that's great!

You guys are wonderful! Such creative ideas. Now I am thinking of writing the letter, stopping at a Mall somewhere along I-95 and asking Santa to pass it to th boys. Maybe I'd put our MVMCP tickets in the envelope, then each morning maybe have something special from Santa or Mickey or a scavanger hunt type thing. They are scheduled for the Pirate Cruise our 1st morning so maybe a clue about that activity, maybe DQ tickets one day, maybe a Water Park clue if we have a warm day. This is fun! Anymore suggestions?
