I had managed to find a white t-shirt, that already had black stripes around the neck and sleeves. A seamstress out here sewed a black stripe down the middle, and sewed a Ben 10 patch on an arm. She also took in the shirt to fit my son better as it was about a size or two too big. Took a couple of months to get it back!

He was so in love with it, I was letting him wear it. Thenl tonight I discovered he dumped it in the laundry basket with a wet towel on top.

It had mold spots all over it!!!! :scared1: Already been through the wash so the mold is gone, but there's stains all over it now. I could just cry... :sad1:

(and I discovered my daughter outgrew her costume, and we leave in 3 weeks!)

Has anyone successfully removed mold stains from clothing?

Have you tried a bleach pen?

Just make sure the white is pure white!

As far as your daughter out growing her costume - it must be heart breaking in two ways - A) She now doesn't have a costume and B) That means she's growing up! :guilty:

Post what she wants to 'be' for halloween - I'm sure you'll get ideas - I know I'm full of them! :wizard:

For your Dd, costume ideas are, Alice in Wonderland, Queen of Hearts,
Minnie Mouse, Tinker Bell, Wendy of Peter Pan,

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

Well, my husband did get the mold stains off the shirt. We had washed it twice with vingear, only that didn't work.

He ended up dabbing the spots with bleach. Worked great on the spots!

Unfortunately it leached out to the black stripe down the centre and around the neck... The black stripes are now black, rusty red, and dark brown...

So I need to figure out another costume for our son. He saw a batman PJ outfit in the new Sears Wishbook and wants that. But it's pants PJs, not shorts... I wonder if he would be too hot, or because it's really PJs if it would be light enough. He's only 6 so I don't care if he dresses up in PJs for MNSSHP. Of course he'll have to wear underwear though. ;)

We found another cheerleading outfit on e-bay. It looks much nicer and more comfortable! Hopefully I'm right on the size and it will fit our daughter.
