I don't know why I'm posting this... but I knew people on the dis would understand! My mom is GIVING us her spacebanked timeshare and we can switch it anywhere we want that Interval offers. :woohoo: SO, the DVC villas are all on there! Of course I'm thinking.... what a deal! We can stay in a villa, cook for ourselves most of the week, and get the ticket deal that Undercover Tourist is offering right now. What a great way to do Disney, and when would the opportunity to do it this way ever come up again. We would never be able to afford to stay in a villa, not sure even if we rented the points from someone if we could afford a week there! It's just me, hubby and 2 year old DD, and she loved Disney last year, but a hotel room just didn't work for us. She is used to being in her own room to sleep and we had a tough time getting her to nap and sleep with us being there and not having an extra door to close. THIS makes the situation PERFECT!

MY husband doesn't see it this way. He wants to do something different, but he doesn't have any other suggestions and isn't interested in researching something else. I've handed him the book of places 3 times now and he just puts it down. I'm so bummed. I feel like I've been turned down, but if there's nothing he has in mind, WHY? So I guess my question is, should I let it go, or should I try to convince him to see it my way.

Also, if anyone has ever been to any Interval Timeshare spots, are there any you recommend? I am pregnant so we would like to travel by June, and my daughter and I don't have updated passports, so we need to stay in the US. We live in CT so I am really ready for WARMER WEATHER.... I'm not sure if flying might be his issue, but I refuse to go on a cold weather vacation after this long nasty winter! I figure if we don't have to pay to stay, and can cook a lot for ourselves (which is easier for us anyway because our DD has egg allergy so eating out is a nightmare!) then we can afford to fly.

Thanks for listening! I'm so bummed! :guilty:

Disney seems perfectly logical to me. Maybe show him some pictures of a villa. Put your daughter in a princess dress, etc. Let him know you're willing to plan everything. Maybe he'll give in! Staying in the villas is really a great way to do Disney with kids. It can be a relaxing, great family vacation when you each have your own space.

Wow, congrats! I'm excited for you! If I were you I would go ahead and get everything booked and tell your DH that if he doesn't like it he can stay home!:rolleyes1
When are you going to get another opportunity like this? My biggest worry would be deciding which DVC villa.

Not to put a damper on things, but DVC just switched from Interval to RCI, so I'm not sure it's really an option anymore. I'm not an expert on that, but I'd double check before you get too far down that road.

When I'm faced with this issue (Indecisive Husband-itis), I get so frustrated. Rather than overwhelm my hubby with hundreds of choices, I simply pick my top three things, and let him choose from those three by a certain date. He also gets told that he had a chance to pick, and if he doesn't pick from those three (or come up with a suitable solution by the deadline), he loses his right to complain when I make the call.

I've only had to flex my Mommy Muscle once for him to "get it".

Good luck!

I was told this by Interval last week. I called to book a week at a Disney DVC and was told that they no longer exchange with Disney. I was so bummed...but I also have RCI and they are on RCI for "Extra weeks", but no exchnages are available to the best of my knowledge.

Thanks so much everyone for your tips. I'm actually glad to hear that Interval no longer trades with DVC because I think it's the only way I'll be able to get over it! LOL! It's funny they are still listed on their website and in the 2009 book, but I'll take your word for it and let it go! My husband wants to go to Williamsburg instead, and it looks like there will be a ton to do there with our daughter as well. He swears we will get to do Disney a few times with our kids someday so I just have to be patient!

SO, I'm letting it GO! Thanks for the advice!

My parents own at Grande VIsta in Orlando and we've been to numerous Marriott Vacation Clubs and they are all really nice. I would recommend any of them and they do belong to Interval World. Good luck!
