HELP! Okay, I'm an idiot...

I've rented an RV and planned on coming from Omaha to Florida and said to my DW and DD, "Let's go camping at WDW!" I've been 3 X B4 and would go every year. However, when I called CRO the guy actually laughed and said i was about 18 months too late. Totally booked.

Amateur move on my part. Are there any boards where I can find if someone is cancelling, a site becomes available, or someone is willing to sell their res?

I am so spontaneous and it does bite me in the rear sometimes. Everyone is excited but no site...any help would be great!

When do you want to be there, what are you renting, how long do you want to stay, what type of site do you need.

Periodically people post on here when they are cancelling, but the best you can hope for then is to call CRO the next morning first thing and hope you can pick up the reservation. Transferring a reservation or selling it are no no's - Disney does not allow it.

heck i was on the phone with Steve when he cancelled his, and i couldn't get it when I called in 30 seconds later.

call,call,call. if you do not want to break dw and dd hearts you may want to book a resort room at WDW if possible. but keep trying for ressies at the Fort and cancel the room if you get in.

Super funny replies...yes drafthorsecrazy it's EASTER WEEKEND! Do you think I'd make this easy? So not me. Basically March 20 - 24th. I have a 30 foot Class C with 2 slides. I'd basically be happy with a piece of grass 30x9 at this point. I talked to the CRO again and the guy said it's like the lottery to catch a cancelled reservation. As far as rooms go alll they have left are in the $200+ range a night. Kinda kills the whole RV/Camping experience. This is the first RV excursion for the family and road trip, camping, and WDW?? How can you beat that? SUPER excited!

just show up unnanounced and tell them you are there for your vacation. when they tell you that you don't have a ressie, refuse to move your motorhome until they give you one, calling them racists the entire time.

if that doesn't work, borrow brother rog's bottle rockets and have a war at the outpost.

once we start hijacking your thread "it's all over". keep calling tho miracles do happen. just a thought.. renting the rv, gas, and site cost may have been real close to the $200. per nite room rate. let us know what happens. your pretty funny, fit in with this bunch well.

Sorry we hijacked you on your first post.... With your dates so close, Just call a hundred times a day, it may happen, but I really would think about the resort idea.... Over the last 3 trips, we have visited almost all of them and some are pretty amazing. And like it was stated, with the rental, fuel and campground, it would probably be cheaper in the long run....


Now back to our regularly scheduled tom fooolllery...

Sold my youngest and we're gonna be out for about 3 weeks so already factored in rental, gas, sites, and sounds along the way, and wdw tickets, etc. That's why the rooms would throw the budget outta whack. Adds about $500+ to the mix. If WDW was the main focus we'd just fly down and stay on-site but it's more about enjoying the trip down, national parks, camping, but I couldn't pass up a chance at Ft. Wilderness. Any good recommendations for off-property sites? May not be as exciting but still staying with the camping theme. also any RV boards as this is my first RV excursion (would love to buy one but only have 2-3 weeks a year vacation) and want to make sure I'm covering all my bases

You could always stay in the overflow lot - you just have to get up every few hours at night and move so security doesn't get wise.
