Help Needed - Using National in Orlando?

Hi,

We will be using National at Orlando airport in October, through Holiday Autos, and I have a few questions I hope some of you can help with.

I have read about the Emerald club and tried to join but couldn't as I have a UK address, has anyone gotten round this, and is it worth having?

Do they charge a deposit when you collect the car? I have been told $200, but have read that it is more like $500, which is correct?

Is the service any good?

Are they onsite?

Do you get stung for a large fuel deposit?

Lots of things worrying me at the moment, it is the only bit of the trip that is bothering me, everything else is sorted, but because this is a new one on me, I am uneasy.

We used Dollar on our only other trip and spent 5 months trying to get the fuel charges back, we refused them at collection and then returned the car full to the brim, but still got charged over $70 for fuel!

Another of your posts which has managed to slip through the net, Sid. Whilst National isn't the most popular choice for those booking from the UK, I'm sure there must be someone here who can help.
