Help needed to find some Disney music suitable for a memorial service

Hi all,

I hope this is an appropriate place to post this request, please let me know if I need to move it elsewhere.

I've just been asked to suggest some music for a memorial event for a lady who has passed away recently. The event will be attended by her colleagues and family

Unfortunately I don't actually know the lady as the request has come through my partner, the departed being someone who worked on the same ward as her at hospital.

Clearly I would start with When you wish upon a star but I would welcome any suggestions from the community as most of my favourite Disney music is somewhat more upbeat and I'm looking to pull together a more thoughtful. I also need to steer away from Peter Pan as this was played at her funeral and may be a little to recent for her family.

Any thoughts you may have would be incredibly welcome and may I thank you all in advance for reading this.

First off, I'm sorry for your partner's loss. It's always so tough to lose a coworker. My thoughts and prayers are with you and them.

"Remember Me" from the new film CoCo is a beautiful song. Maybe "You'll Be In My Heart" from Tarzan? I don't know how much you partner is wanting in terms of lyrics that fit with a memorial event, or if they are just looking for calm/soothing Disney music in general. If so, they could also go for some calm piano covers of popular songs. They tend to be a little more mellow and calm without being in your face about loss.

Thanks for the kind words and suggestions - probably a bit of both between the soothing music and appropriate lyrics. That's got me digging out my Dave Brubeck Disney to see if that would work as well!

A lot of Randy Newman music for Disney is pretty touching stuff. Might check those out. (E.g. I will go sailing no more).

We used You'll Be In My Heart at my dads memorial service and it was very moving. I agree that Remember Me is beautiful. At my dads we also used some of the instrumental music from Up, and it was quite fitting as well.
