Originally, we were to be driving to WDW and this time out we will be doing a split stay (CBR and WL). Okay, no biggie ~ we have a conversion van (just move our "stuff" from one location to the next). Well, now we are flying, so that takes the conversion van out of the picture. What is the most "pain-free" way to get ourselves (7 of us) AND our luggage to WL? (don't want to go to a park lst thing in the A.M. because we are meeting the rest of our family who will be flying in that morning, too and we've made plans to "do" AK for late morning/early afternoon). What to do, folks??

Countdown to WDW:
10 days - 17 hours - 20 minutes - Woohoo!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

I recommend Limo/towncar service from the airport (we used Tiffany Towncar, but check out the transportation board for other options). With the # in your party you'll need the limo!

Have the bellhop take all your luggage except any valuables for the resort switch. They will deliver everything to the new resort. We took our valuables with us when we went from AKL to WL (via AK on the busses), checked into the WL, and got a safe deposit box to put the good stuff in (like my laptop computer).

...the luggage was taken via whatever mode of transp. the bellhops use and you arrived at WL via the regular Disney buses? I guess that we will have to take a bus to the TTC and another one from there to WL (or perhaps one to DTD and get on another one that goes to WL...)

When we switched at Christmas, we took the more costly route. We checked out of the Contemporary and took a cab to AKL with all of our luggage. We were able to check right in, and didn't have to wait around for bell services to get our stuff. Between tips and cab fare, it cost about $25 in all.

I just got off the phone with my DS(ister) and she offered to pick us up (w/o the luggage, tho'). She and her DFam will be driving to WDW and they are staying at the WL, too. (no split stay this time). As long as we send the luggage off with bell services, she will pick us up at CBR and transport us back to "her" resort. She even offered to let us keep our stuff in her room until we are assigned our rooms (don't I have a GREAT sister??:) )

Countdown to WDW:
10 days - 42 minutes - Yippee skippee!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

That is great that you can get a ride. Do keep in mind that your bags probably won't be transferred right away. They may not arrive until early afternoon. I am not sure on the timing but you could call now and ask bell services at CBR what the general procedure is and when your bags would be likely to arrive at the WL after you check out.

It is a service the hotels offer. Granted your luggage may not arrive until the afternoon but I have no problems with it.

From what I understand they have large Vans that move Luggage back and forth all day. With luggage for 7, I woud not bother with any other way..

Have a great trip!
