So, DF and I are having a difficult time figuring out what we'd like to do with our guests the night before our wedding. We've gone back and forth on the idea of a dessert party, but I'm having difficulty justifying spending almost $2,000 on ice cream and brownies!

We don't have a specific budget, but I just want to feel like I'm getting my money's worth, you know? So, what did the rest of you do? Did you do a dessert party? Was it worth the money? What about a sit down dinner? Or are there other options that I just haven't thought of yet? Help! :confused3

Let's see, off the top of my head... beach BBQ, pizza party, mini-golfing, Ft. Wilderness hayride, dinner in a restaurant, meet 'n' greet at the hotel, IllumiNations/Fantasmic!/Wishes dinner party or dessert party, Safari & Karibu Dinner in Animal Kingdom, Beauty & the Beast/Nemo show and dinner in DHS (but I s'pose you don't want to make the rehearsal dinner more spectacular than your wedding reception! :rotfl:)

The possibilities are pretty much endless, but they can be grouped into a few types: Are you envisioning a private catered event (casual or formal; inside a park or outside), dinner at a restaurant, a casual get-together (like in a hotel room/villa); or a fun group activity (with or without a meal)? That will help narrow it down.

Not sure what exactly you are looking for but I am having mine at a restaurant in downtown Disney called Paridesio 37. Its a fun place and it has live entertainment every night we don't have a separate room though more like a separate area. There are stairs that take you up a little bit and our party will be sat there. Here is the menu and price is only $38 per person.

We will also be having our rehersal/welcome dinner at Downtown Disney at a rest. called Bongos Cafe. Its a cuban rest.- the food is amazing and the sangria gets you feeling pretty nice :) :thumbsup2

We will be having about 40 people, and the menu we decided on will be $40 pp (including taxes). This includes drinks, coffees and teas. We decided to set up a cash bar for those who want to purchase alcoholic drinks (we're providing open bar at the reception, they can wait for the free drinks if they wanna be cheap :rotfl2:)

Def. look into Downtown Disney, its a fun area.

We've decided to do a DP for our rehearsal dinner, and we will be including a few hot food items as well. DF does not want to have a DP on our wedding night, but I just think they are so neat, so we are doing it for the rehearsal instead. I think if your not doing one on your wedding day it might be a good choice, I think it's something guests will really enjoy!

Sorry to hi-jack the thread...Carrie do you have any more info on the beach BBQ? Is it held at Stormalong Bay?

just wondering, is it possible to have a rehersal dinner through Disney at a price point of 40 pp or cheaper? I've seen some of the menues and it appears to be more than $40.00 pp.

I guess it all depends what you want. I am having a tea party through disney catering and for sandwiches, soup, and salad and non alcoholic drinks its $40 per person. So i guess it depends how fancy you want to get with the food. There are rooms at the Grand Floridian that have food and beverage minimum starting at $500. The key west room is $500 f&B minimum but can only fit around 20 people. You can customize your menu with your wedding planner and tell her how much you want to spend.
