What wonderful plans along day but spaced out sooo well !! As for my flight dilemma my TA swears they ate in the same terninal !!!

Yes, it's a pretty long day, but nothing "serious" done all day, just floating and eating and drifting and eating and relaxing and eating ........... :rotfl2:

I love floating along on the lazy rivers. We did Blizzard Beach back in 2002, the water park was included in our package at no extra charge. That was through the old Mickey Club.

Firstly Karin, thanks so much for the glowing review of OKW :goodvibes

Next, another great update and a wonderful day planned :thumbsup2

We would love to go to the Top Of The World Lounge one of these days, you have to be staying at BLT on points though don't you?

Looking forward to hearing more of your plans

We have tried the lazy river at BB too, but we still prefer Typhoon Lagoon. Such a fun place, and since we still have Water park tickets (they came with one of our British tickets) we use one every trip. :thumbsup2

I float well !!!!:rotfl2:Except when certain littlw imps tip me over !!! Granny Dunkin!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I float well too ..... not too sure about the Granny Dunkin though. :rotfl2:

Talking about OKW always gets me going ..... :lmao:

ToTW is still members only. You need to stay on points and they do check your member ID (or KTTW card if it is mentioned on there) before letting you on the elevator up.

More plans coming up shortly. :goodvibes

I can't wait till Claire and I try out the Yachtsman steakhouse. I am pretty happy with that decision now.

We tried it for the first time last year and were really impressed. The food was so tasty and the service impecable. :thumbsup2

Day 14:
Cruising a DREAM

It will be an early rise today and after getting ready for the day we will check the villa again for forgotten items, then load everything into the car and check out of Old Key West.

DSC_0453.JPG

We will not drive far as we have planned to have breakfast at Wolfgang Puck’s Express.

IMG_3396.jpg

IMG_3398.jpg

IMG_3401.jpg

Once we have finished breakfast we will head straight to our car and get on the way to Port Canaveral. After an hour’s drive we should arrive there

IMG_3402.jpg

IMG_3403.jpg

IMG_3404.jpg

IMG_3405.jpg

and will drop off our luggage before we return our rental car. After all the paperwork is done we will then head to the shuttle back to the ship.
Once we are back we will get into the none US line, which is usually very short and check in.

IMG_1066.jpg

Ship’s ID in hand we will head to the Mickey Ear entrance and onto the ship.

DSC_0796.jpg

Depending on how late it is we will go to Enchanted Garden for lunch.

IMG_3406.jpg

IMG_3409.jpg

Hopefully it will then soon be time to check out our stateroom.

DSC_0805.JPG

After putting our carry on into our stateroom we will walk up to decks 11 and 12 to enjoy the view, before we return to our stateroom to hopefully find the rest of our luggage. Once we have unpacked we will head to the DVC presentation

IMG_3413.jpg

DSC_0404.jpg

and then it will be time to find our station for the lifeboat drill and then we will retreat to our stateroom and unpack until we sail out.

Oh Karin, you have just made me really want to get on another cruise ..... like tomorrow!! :rotfl:

By the way, do you actually have to be staying at BLT on points or can you go to the lounge if you are staying elsewhere on points?

We are DVC members but I thought you actually had to be staying at BLT :confused3

If you go on that cruise TOMORROW, Linda, can you take me with you? :lmao:

They have opened up the Top of the World Lounge for any member staying on points for a few weeks this summer (I think it ends August 25). As long as you are a member and staying on property you can go up to the lounge. Other than that time window you have to be a member and stay at BLT to go up.

Your food porn is soooo tempting !!Can't wait to be trying all the food at Universal and Disney ans still fingers crossed for the Cruise next year!!!

So I am not totally caught up yet..still have a couple updates to get through, but I had to comment before I forget since I have to go to bed...and once in bed and asleep...I WILL forget.

You definitely know how to travel. Your hotel looks amazing. I didn't realize it was a 4 hour drive from there to orlando. I realize it makes sense. Florida is a long state...not wide, but I always think about how long it takes to get from Orlando to Cape Canaveral and think it must take that long to get anywhere.

Food too looks amazing. Do you ever have a bad meal? I need to just right down all the places you eat and then follow in your footsteps. I look at your pictures of the food and the Wave and am struck with "why did we cancel here?"

I also love all your views from all your rooms! And watching Wishes from your room will be amazing, I am sure. I know recently watching fireworks from a roof top was wonderful.. but not as comfortable as sitting in your own space.

Let see... :scratchin I am sorry to be glad you had a week that you didn't post much. I am not sure I would ever get caught up if you didn't.

I can't believe I missed the carrot cake cupcake. I got hooked on the smores one at WL. OMG, my favorite dessert of all time!!! WDW cupcakes are all so yummy...but that smores one is my favorite.

Your trip will be here very very soon. I can't wait to read more. However, this is all for me tonight. My eye lids are getting pretty heavy. ;)

Ahh, I see .... thanks Karin :thumbsup2
Fingers crossed that they continue to do this from time to time

:banana::banana: I am caught up!!!

OKW definitely looks like a place I want to stay someday. They have studios? And Olivas there looks like a hidden gem. Your meal at the Turf Club (?) where is that, OKW?

I have never been to one of the water parks.... I love the picture you got of the family right before the big wave hit!! :rotfl: Poor little guys looks like he got lost in it.

What was the icy drink at Y&Y? Yum! I bet on a hot day it would be perfect!!!

I love that you are doing another set of cruises too. Is it bad that I am excited to read the TR for this summer vacation??? I bet you are going to have such an awesome time :cool1:

The only thing I hate is I just want to add things from your trip to mine!! WGPE for breakfast?! I have to do that some time!!!! YUM!!!

Florida is a long state...not wide, but I always think about how long it takes to get from Orlando to Cape Canaveral and think it must take that long to get anywhere.

It is a 4 hour drive from Orlando to Miami and another 3 - 4 hour drive to Key West. The road to Key West is over a lot of bridges and has lots of speed limits. ;)
But the part of going to Key West makes up in awesome scenery - the drive from Orlando to Miami not so much, rather boring highway. :lmao:

Oh, and the hotel in Key West is absolutely amazing!!! We had a hard time deciding in 2009, when we stayed there for the first time, as I can tell you a room with that view does not come cheap, but it was SO worth it!!

Food too looks amazing. Do you ever have a bad meal? I need to just right down all the places you eat and then follow in your footsteps. I look at your pictures of the food and the Wave and am struck with "why did we cancel here?"

Yes, we do have bad meals too! :rotfl2: But there are many more good ones than bad ones. ;)
We just love the Wave! The food is a bit different from your regular "grub" and it is always so well prepared - desserts are :cloud9:

I also love all your views from all your rooms! And watching Wishes from your room will be amazing, I am sure. I know recently watching fireworks from a roof top was wonderful.. but not as comfortable as sitting in your own space.

I just love watching Wishes from Main Street, but to see it from one of the nearby hotels is just awesome. We love the view from CG, ToTW and now our own balcony at the CR! :woohoo:
I didn't remember the Carrot Cake cupcake either - then Linda reminded me! Plus I really want to try the Smores one too!
We only have three more weeks to go ..... in just 21 days I will already be at the airport waiting for my plane to take off. :goodvibes

Ahh, I see .... thanks Karin :thumbsup2
Fingers crossed that they continue to do this from time to time

I hope they will, Linda! It's a shame not to fill up the Lounge - it is just beautiful!!! :thumbsup2

:banana::banana: I am caught up!!!

OKW definitely looks like a place I want to stay someday. They have studios? And Olivas there looks like a hidden gem. Your meal at the Turf Club (?) where is that, OKW?

:woohoo: for being caught up - you did very well!! :thumbsup2
OKW is an awesome resort, even though I have just noticed that they have a "funny" door configuration.
In some of the 1 bedrooms you need to walk into the master bedroom to get to the bathroom. Just inside and take a sharp left/right, depending on the layout, but none the less. :lmao: It has never been a problem for us, as all our doors are always wide open.
Olivia's definitely is a hidden gem - and they really have a Key West atmosphere in there, very laid back and relaxed, always joking, so fun.
The Turf Club is at SSR. I think this is another one of the hidden gems. Always easy to get a reservation and the food is really good.

I have never been to one of the water parks.... I love the picture you got of the family right before the big wave hit!! :rotfl: Poor little guys looks like he got lost in it.

If you have never been to the water parks and like to swim you definitely should try them. We love Typhoon Lagoon.
The icy drink was a shaved ice Martini. I think mine was cherry. They bring out the shaved ice in a glass and the Martini in the shaker and just pour it at the table. Yummy!!

I cannot wait to get back to the DREAM and to stay there for nine nights will be awesome.

You really need to try WPE for breakfast once - apart from the breakfast pizza and pocket they have wonderful waffles and cornflakes crusted french toast - portions big enough to easily share!!!!! :thumbsup2

Day 15:
Cruising a DREAM

We will be up early as this will be our first Castaway Cay day.
IMG_2048.jpg

IMG_2057.jpg

Breakfast will come from room service and will be enjoyed on the veranda.

IMG_2071.jpg

Then we will get our bags ready and put on our wristbands and just wait until we are allowed to leave the ship.
Once we get the all clear we will head toward deck one and get off the ship. I guess there will be some photos taken on the way to the tram and then off we go to the first stop and the shops.
I doubt we will leave them without any purchases and will then go back to the tram stop again. And off we will go to Serenity Bay. There we will sign in for our Cabana and then be taken to it by our Cabana Host.

And after checking it out and enjoying the view

and the amenities

IMG_2102-1.jpg

IMG_2106-1.jpg

IMG_2131.jpg

for a short while we will take our first dip in the ocean.

DSCF1214.jpg

I guess a Konk Kooler or two will be consumed

IMG_2112.jpg

during the course of the morning and around midday we will just walk down to the barbeque station.
I hope they won’t change the wonderful salad bar they have there as I intend on having some of it.

IMG_2118.jpg

Another must have for lunch will be

IMG_2121.jpg

a chocolate chip cookie and some of the yummy fruit they offer. After lunch we will either walk back to our Cabana or have our host drive us there to enjoy the afternoon. A few more dips in the ocean later

DSCF1195.jpg

DSCF1201.jpg

we will have to pack up for the day and head back to the ship. After a relaxing shower we will grab a bite to eat from Tow Maters and enjoy some relaxing time on the veranda.

DSC_0741.jpg

We will watch the ship sail away from Castaway Cay and then head to hand out Fish Extender gifts. And then it will be time to head to the rotation restaurant for dinner.

IMG_1107.jpg

IMG_1113.jpg

IMG_1114-1.jpg

After dinner we will sit out on the veranda for some time and enjoy the night air with and adult beverage in hand before we go to bed.
