Can anyone out there tell me what the name of the song is?!? It is from the 1961 version of "The Parent Trap". Everyone is whistling it when the 2 Hayley Mills are brought to their new cabin at camp. :cool1: I can't for the life of me think of the name of the song.

THANKS,
Korey

Let's get together, yeah yeah yeah.
Why don't you and I combine?
Let's get together, what do you say?
We can have a swinging time.
We'd be a crazy team.
Why don't we make a scene? Together.

oh, oh, oh, oh
Let's get together, yeah yeah yeah.
Think of all that we could share.
Let's get together, everyday
Every way and everywhere.
And though we haven't got a lot,
We could be sharing all we've got. Together.

Oh! I really think you're swell.
Uh huh! We really ring the bell.
Oo wee! And if you stick with me
Nothing could be greater, say hey, alligator.

Let's get together, yeah yeah yeah.
Two is twice as nice as one.
Let's get together, right away.
We'll be having twice the fun.
And you can always count on me.
A gruesome twosome we will be.
Together, yeah yeah yeah.

Actually, that's not the one that I am looking for. It is at the song is at the beginning of the movie when the 2 girls are at camp. They are being put into a cabin together and everyone is following them, whistling a "campy" tune. I think that there are words to it, but I can't think of it! Ahhhh...I wish my brian was working today!

Thanks for the reply!

Thank you so much for telling me the name of the song. Does anyone know if there are words to it...I seem to remember as a kid there being words to it something like "hmmm, hmmm, it tastes like gasoline." "so why don't you buy it and try it today"

Anyone out there have any clues?!?

Thanks for your wonderful smarts!
Korey

"Hitler he only had one ball.
Himmler had 2 but they were small"

very popular in Britian during WW11

Here's what I found:

(tune :"The Colonel Bogie March," written for ANZACS ("Australia New Zealand Army Corps") in World War I, was popularized by being featured in the 1960s film about WWII in Burma, "The Bridge on the River Kwai," from the novel by Pierre Boule .)

Come on & join our breakfast club
Come on & we've got the best of grub
Come on - you won't regret it
You'll never get it as good as we've got

Comet will make your teeth turn green
Comet it tastes like gasoline
Comet will make you vomit
So get some Comet, and vomit, today!

Ajax will make your teeth turn blue
Ajax it smells like Elmer's Glue
Ajax will make you relax
So get some Ajax, and relax, today!

Arrid It keeps your armpits dry
Arrid It makes you smell, "Oh, my!"
Arrid Helps you get marrid
So get Arrid, and get marrid, today!

--------------------

But I couldn't find if there were any words to the original song. I think maybe there never were any words. I had never heard the "Arrid" version, btw - LOL!!!

Laurie :)
