Help me pick my resort for March 2012

Really - input is needed.

I need to save about 100 points so that I can get a 3BR MK villa view in 2013 so for March 2012 I need to use 300 points or less and I need a 2 BR (6 person family). Kids will be 10, 10, 6 and 4.

So I see my choices as
#1 BWV Standard view
#2 AK Standard View
#3 OKW Standard View
#4 SSR

Ok - so SSR is ruled out - bit more help with defining a leader here amoung the top 3.

I am looking at the Boardwalk for a two bedroom in mid July and doing a Standard view it's 301 in points for a week

I voted for SSR, hoping you could book the Treehouses which would be great for your family. Same points as a 2 br.

If tree house villas work out.. this is the best kept secret.. only it isn't really a secret.. and there sure hard to book..

Actually I think SSR is one of the nicest resorts of anywhere. Walk to DTD, no shared busses, Artists Palled, fantastic pools, splash area.

I picked SSR because I think it's the lowest points. I would base my decision solely on points.

Where do you own at?

BWV Standard and AKL standard can be really tough to get (unless you own there). March is a busy time with spring break and Easter is earlier next year. What week in March and where you own would be factors in making an informed vote for me.

March 17 - 24th the kids spring break. I hadn't thought about the tree houses but I don't think I can get them at 7 months... might be fun to try.

We own at BLT - everything's high in points there.

AKV is my vote - and it looks like it's in the lead. AKV is a gorgeous resort. You'll love it.

I voted OKW. Don't get me wrong, OKW is my absolute favorite, but if I'm trying to conserve points, I book there. Number two would be an AKV value if you can get it.

For a week in a 2 bedroom, AK standard is the cheapest points at 287 and I think you have a fairly good chance at getting that at 7 months (I feel most opt for a savanna view there). You would get the extra bathroom as well at Kidani Village
Busses pick up at Kidani first before going to the parks.......only the two bus stops (Kidani and Jambo).

OKW would come in second with the next lowest points @ 296.

The only reason I didn't choose this one is because it's really really difficult to get at 7 months. The OP's home resort is BLT.

I would go with BWV. Its all about location to me. We were just there for our kids spring break (3/26-4/3) and I split my stay with BWV and BLT. I love not waiting for transportation.

Good luck on getting your choice. I have to admit that I didn't select BWV standard view mainly because it's hard to get at the 7 month. If you want more space I consider OKW. Everyone says it's a great resort for kids. Do your children love Epcot, many don't? If not, I don't see any advantage to the location at BWV as it would a long walk for your youngest two to go to DHS. But I guess you could ride a Friendship boat which takes about the same length of time a bus from AKV would take.

I personally would vote for a standard view at Kidani just for the three bathrooms. Sure you have to go to Jambo to get to Mara, Boma or Jiko but many families eat quick meals at the park or in their villas. And you can always ride any park bus from Kidani to Jambo House and walk back or wait for a DTD bus which stops first at Jambo and then goes to Kidani.

I'm with you....people keep voting for BWV standard. Sure the location is great but I've NEVER been able to get a standard view there at 7 months. Preferred, yes....but BWV/Standard view is almost unheard of at 7 months. So I think this needs to be realistically factored in to the debate.

I voted AKV. We love it there and it is the least amount of points. A close second would be OKW. The rooms are huge and beautiful!

I agree with the others - unless you own at BWV, it will be nearly impossible to get at 7 months out for spring break in a standard view.

I would save points by booking OKW, but I'm not sure what you mean by "OKW-Standard view". There is no such thing. OKW has not point differences for views.

I didn't get the OKW "standard" either. They also have SSR "standard" too ?
But the funny thing is the 2 bedroom "standard" AKV is cheaper points than OKW (reallocation changed OKW points for sure). It's 287 vs 296 for OKW.
