I am going to cancel our Le Cellier dinner that we have booked this month and I want to replace it with one of these places...we are planning on ordering steak.

So which one would you go with and why?

I'm not going to vote because the only place I've actually had steak is at Le Cellier. So, I can't really rate one that!!

We have a reservation at Yachtman later this month though and I'm excited to try it!

I've heard absolutely rave reviews about Shula's numerous times. I've actually been considering adding a reservation there for the trip DH and I are taking alone in December.

Artist Point is a fabulous meal and the ambiance and setting are amazing. DH LOVED his buffalo!

I love Le Cellier, but I kinda think it's over hyped! Yes, it's a good meal! Yes, I love the Tomato Stack and Salt Crusted Prime Rib. But I don't think think it's any better then anything I could get at a really good steak place at home! It's still worth an adr though!

I did have braised short ribs at Jiko and they were fabulous! It was one of the best meals I've ever had!!! I highly recommend Jiko! Even if it's not for steak
I really think that no matter where you go you'll have a great experience! Good luck and happy dining!

IMHO if you're looking for Steak there's only 2 choices on property:

1) Shula's
2) Yatchmans

(in this order)

I agree---Shula's or YSH. We have been to YSH before and thought it was really nice. We have been to a Shula's (not the one at the Dolphin) and it was delish, probably slightly more high end than YSH but we also paid a pretty penny for our meal there. If you go to Shula's and don't have the TIW card, don't forget to buy a restaurant.com coupon for $2 to use for your meal!

For steak, and you know I don't eat it anymore, but I always really liked Yachtsman. Plus I love the rolls there with roasted garlic. I've always heard good things about Shula's, though I haven't tried it, and I enjoyed my filet at Jiko when I had it there. I also really liked the buffalo steak I had at Artist Point.

I would put all those steaks above Le Cellier. I like Le Cellier, but I don't like how cramped it is in there, and I think it's a little over-rated.

I'd go with Shula's. They are known for have exceptional cuts of meat. I haven't dined there myself, yet. It's one of 9 I still need to knock out. I have dined at the others and would say to go with Yachtsman. Steaks are really good and you can see the butcher cutting the meat right there.

I do like the filet at Le Cellier but it would have to be my 3rd choice.

I know you have read our recent review so you know I picked the Yachtsman! :goodvibes DS is still talking about his porterhouse with the garlic butter!

We have never eaten at a Shula's and actually have talked about trying it next year the night before we recheck in for the dining plan. Seems like you can't go wrong eating there based on those that have tried it. It is sure pricey though!

I've never been to Shula's so I can't really say anything about them. I guess I just don't see a real reason to do Shula's at WDW since it's present in several major cities.

Of the other restaurants, Artist Point is my favorite. If you would consider ordering the buffalo strip steak, that would be my choice.

As for the others, I've tried Le Cellier's filet (several times, most recently in July), Jiko's filet (once, in August - I got it with the listed accompaniments, not the mac n' cheese), and Yachtsman's filet, strip steak, and porterhouse. My choice from these would be Jiko's filet (it came with sweet corn risotto, mushrooms, and South African cabernet reduction). My next choice would be Le Cellier's mushroom filet - I just love the truffle butter and risotto that come with it. I love Yachtsman overall, but not really for the steak (the dishes are less interestingly composed than the other options). If you enjoy fatty meat, then Yachtsman's porterhouse would be a good choice.

That's interesting because DS does not eat a bit of fat and really enjoyed the porterhouse. There was a bit of fat around the edge of the strip side but otherwise the meat was very lean.

Well its official...I cancelled LC and booked Shulas, cannot wait!

I have read that you are not allowed to take pictures in there, is that true?

Funny enough is neither of us are sad about giving up LC...I think its just the thought of attaining a reservation there that is exciting, not so much the food ;)

 I understand that. My favorite steak is at Jiko.

I'm sure Shula's will be a good choice for steak.

Wow, that sounds better than my experience. I left quite a bit of meat on the plate because there was fat all over (not just on the edge). In comparison, both the filet entree and the strip steak were much easier to handle.

For steak shula's is it for us on Disney property. Just know that you order your steak and if you want any sides it is extra. I never heard about the no picture taking. Honestly, you have a phone and mmm how would they really know. Probably just don't want flash going off. I must say we are foregoing Shula's this year for Yachtman's only because we have never been there and ddw's review earlier. Check with restaurant.com sometimes they have coupons. Cant wait to see your reviews!!

Excellent! I am very anxious to read your review of Shula's. I'm strongly considering including it in our dining plans for our upcoming Nov. trip, as DS is a steak lover. We would have to give up either Flying Fish or Citricos to do it though, so trying to decide if it is worth it. Your review will be very helpful in making this decision. :thumbsup2 Have you posted your dining schedule or started a PTR yet? I'd love to know where else you are dining.

I havent started the report yet but we leave in 2 weeks and I am sure that I will start it before we go and this will be another LIVE review!! DH uses it as an excuse to nap...Hey Nic lets go back to the resort so you can update your Dis!...yeah right, he just wants to rest :lmao:

They say that photos in Shula's are frowned upon but I am going to do it anyways  I figure a $200 or more meal is worth some photos!

I hope you can take photos! It's just not the same with no photos. And I'm sure I've seen a couple photos from Shula's before.

You and Todd will love Shulas. When we were there last Dec. it was also the winter baseball meetings and they gave away our table because we were 15 minutes late, so we waited. Good because we ended up being seated right next to Hank Aaron!! Amazing!!

Its really dark in there for sure. Would be great if you could take some pictures. The service is really formal for sure.

Dh and I had the ribeye special of the night, we also shared the potato side. It was just one long piece and not so great. We also split the creamed spinach. That was good but a little heavy on the garlic.

For dessert we had the chocolate souffle and it was fantastic!!

Enjoy your meal. Cant wait to read all about it!!

I think with our tiw card, dh and I spent about 160? We dont drink alcohol, but we had the soup, maybe salad etc.

We love Shula's! It has been excellent each time we have gone.

I've book Yachtsman for January though--DH will probably want to go back to Shula's instead. We'll see.

Shula's Shula's Shula's :)

Best meal I ever had! I think you can take pix in there... Dave just wouldn't let me cuz he said it was too fancy :lmao: It is pretty dark though. It's sooooooooooo good... I can't wait!!
