O.K. Diser's I really need your help. We are thinking of changing from POP to experience a moderate this trip since we have a code and it is only a total of 140 difference for the 6 nights. I called and they had availability for POR, CBR, and Coronado Springs. I need advice.
We are a family of 4, our two children are 4 and 20 months. When you recommend your resort could you tell me about the distance from the rooms to the food court/buses (we really want the shortest distance so if you could recommend an area to request that would be great).
Why you like it.
How is the transportation from the resorts to the parks?
How is the room size?
Playgrounds/pools?
I think it will probably be a toss up between POR because I love the DTD water taxi idea but am not familiar with the resort at all and the food court scares me. Do they have apple juice available at the mug stations like POP does? I like the trundle bed idea there to.
CBR appeals to me, but the largeness of it concerns me with the walking with two small kids.
As you can tell I need help/advice/oppinions here. I appreciate any help you can give us.

We stayed at POR last July. We loved it. I do not think you would have any problem at the food court. I am not sure about the apple juice for the mug's, but I didn't look.

Have fun!!

If it's in your budget, choose CBR but choose one of the "Preferred Locations" which cost, I believe, an additional $15 per night.

The preferred locations are Martinique and Trinidad NORTH. I've stayed twice in Martinique and it was wonderful. Close to everything: bus stop, quiet pool, main pool, Old Port Royale which has the sit down restaurant, food court, and shops. :)

If we ever stayed at CBR again I'd pay the extra fee for the preferred location in a heartbeat!

CBR has the LARGEST rooms of all the moderates, including a privacy curtain between the sinks area and the rest of the room. There's a storage bench/chest with hooks above it, which gives extra storage, too. The rooms have all been refurbished within the last couple of years, as well as the food court and sit down restaurant.

There is a path around the lake that is wonderful, especially at night all lit up, and there's an island in the middle of the lake with a footpath and bridge to cross. There's a playground on the island too. There are soft white sandy beaches and playgrounds at almost all of the "villages", plus a volleyball court on the beach at Trinidad North. The hammocks are large enough to hold 2 adults, or an adult and smaller kids :) There are lounge chairs set up along the beaches too. At night you can see some of the fireworks from Epcot's Illuminations show. This is visible from Martinique, Trinidad North, and from the main pool and pool bar patio area.

Here's a link to one of my CBR web pages, there are links to the pictures at the bottom of the page. Enjoy! :sunny:

P.S. If you will be setting up a pack and play for your younger child, the CBR rooms are large enough to fit it between the bed and the wall that the door is on, so it doesn't have to be in the middle of the room, unless you want it there. And then during the way, if you had it set up in the middle of the room, you can move it to the spot I just mentioned, to get it out of the way. I stayed in a CBR room that had a regular full sized cot set up in it, and housekeeping set it up in that spot and it worked out quite well, we were able to keep it opened up all the time. I don't believe there would be room for this at the other moderates because their rooms are smallers.

Was POFQ not available? It's the smallest of the moderates so you can't get a room too far away.

I have stayed at all of the moderates at least once. In my own personal opinion, I would pick CS. There are many reasons, it's beautiful (but they all are) I love the Pepper Market. But the main reason is the transportation. I love all of the moderates but the CB is soooo big, and PO is waaay too big. The last time I stayed at POFQ, I times how long it took, by bus, to actually get out of the entire PO resort (they have to stop at each POR stop) and it took 15 minutes just to get on to road.
Just my thoughts!

POR !! I think you'll be very happy there. Logistics and the food court are so easy. We stayed there with younger ones and would return even with them older. Very low key relaxing atmosphere. Look at a map, if you want to stay AB the rooms around the first quiet pool to the left of main building are only minutes from the food court and main area, yet quiet and peaceful. Plus you have a pool right there for a quick dip !

CSR is a favorite of ours now!! Stayed there with a toddler and did fine. Stayed at CBR with infant and it was alot of work, a huge resort and not a place we plan to return.

ps Do agree that based on transportation only CSR is the best !! But we did find if we got on the bus at the main building at POR we never had a problem.

Another vote for CSR. The resort is beautiful, the pool is great, and the transportation is fantastic. The buses were nearly empty when we were there in May. Since it's a convention resort, you'll find more business people there who don't use the pool or buses to the parks, but are stuck in meetings all day. It's a great perk. As for people complaining that CSR is too spread out, I didn't find it at all and we stayed in the Ranchos section, which is the farther away from the main building.

I have stayed at all of the moderate resorts and I definetely vote for PORFQ everything is close by. I would NEVER do the CB again. It was way to large. I have 3 young ones and all of the walking wore them out before we even got to the parks. The pool at PORFQ is great for kids...colorful and lively yet small enough that nobody gets lost. CS is very nice and the Pepper market is wonderul but, again if walking is an issue it takes too long to go from room to pool, or food court. Good luck and have a great time!
