we are going to disney and orlando...we are going to be onsite for 2 nts, /3 days. the rest we are offsite in us192.
we plan on epcot the first day ( arriving around noon) and the next day is resort day & MVMCP. last day onsite is MK/ or MGM.( we have 3 day hoppers- so not 100% sure of park days yet.
for dining, for sure we know we want to try to get CP for dinner on mvmcp night and CRT before we leave the CR resort.
the other dining options i would like to try onsite, are Chef mickeys, concourse grill and ohannas, trailend buffet also. but we need to knock out some...there are many places out on orlando we want to explore also ( a most intresting greek place :) )
and since we are getting closer to PS dates, i would like some input as to which you thingk we could miss and not really miss anything does that make sense?

so i am going to try to do a poll...which one of the "extra" places do you thing we should try to make PS for and which should we forget about?
we will have a rental car, if that helps.

thanks

Tina

I say go with Chef Mickeys and Ohana and kill trails and and concourse. Especially if you've never been to any of them.

If you are only spending three days on Disney property, I would not do very many sit down meals that take a lot of time and break up your schedules in weird ways. Almost all the places you mentioned are not at the parks. If you are going to be at the parks you might try for restaurants in the parks instead of outside them. For instance, there are many good restaurants in World showcase for the first day when you are there. I would suggest trying different things from different counter services restaurants or the booths.

If you really want the ones on your list I would choose just one, either Chef Mickeys or Ohanas.

we are going to be doing counter service at epcot..there is nowhere that we saw on teh menus at allearnet.com that made us all happy. Chef mickeys is at our resort - we are staying at CR.
we planned on eating breakfast ( hoping for ps) the morning we check out- which would also be the MGM day.

we are not all day park people- we dont stay at any park disney or not all day...we have frequent breaks, hence staying at CR while visting parks.
the dining in question, ohannas or FW are the only ones we would have " break up our day"
...our list is set up so that we eat either before the park or after the park ....obvisously lunches and snacks will be counter service. - also i dont think we have that many "sit down" set up, my original question was which we could miss and not really miss ( we have never been to 3 of them, you are correct ) because we want to also eat in orlando areas .....

thanks for your post

i am only asking for people to vote on one of the above.
1 of 3. the other 2 will be removed from our dining list.

If you're going for MVMCP, then you are going when park hours are shortened, (except for the night you attend the party). Therefore dinners outside the parks works out great. We really love resort dining at this time of year because we never feel like we are missing anything so we can truly relax and enjoy.

Of your choices, I find it very difficult to advise. I know I am in the minority here, but I am not a fan of Chef Mickey's. I must admit that I have only experienced breakfast, though (twice). What I always try to do is balance out returning to old favorites with adventuring to new places. Bon appetite!

You'll love it - the Poly is beautiful and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. The food is great...and it's a unique experience!

Trails End food leaves a bit to be desired. Yuk.

Never tried Chef Mickey's for dinner but we've had breafast there. It was pretty good - nothing to write home about.

My DH who HATES buffets liked Chef Mickeys.

Also, we had a table by the window and got to watch the MK fireworks explode over Cindy's castle during our visit. Even if you aren't there during the fireworks, the castle is lit up at night and constantly changing colors -- at least it was while we were there.
