We own 100 points at BWV and are very happy with it. We can stay in a studio once a year, but want more. We converted our park passes to DVC APs on our trip last week.

We've always been big fans of The Contemporary Resort. With the new incentives, we are looking at purchasing 50 points, and we can afford it.

It just seems like 150 points is a bit extravagent.

With 150 points, we'll be able to stay in a BWV 1 bedroom every other year and a BLT Studio every other year, or go more than once a year in studios.

What do you guys think? Should we jump??

I might not be a good person to ask since we've added on 3 times (2005, 2008 & 2009). We're at 380 points and hopefully no more add-ons.

Only you can decide what's best for your family.

I'd personally say "Jump in...the water's fine!", but that's me. As someone else just posted it's up to you. I just got done adding on myself.

Addonitis is not bad, it is just an itch - so scratch it!

Just remember to add on in small contracts. i.e. 50 pts. If you need to make a financial change in your life, 50 pt contracts go very well. We have added on a number of times after our initial DVC plunge, but always in small value contracts between 50 & 75 points.

Start scratching!:woohoo:

I'm with the others, I say GO FOR IT, too!

With APs it makes sense to go more than once per year, but only you know your budget. This isn't a good time to play with luxury purchases for many folk, myself included. I'd love to add on more points -but- I have my contract and am happy with it for the next 2 years ... or until I run out of points to borrow. Thanks to Developer points we've gotten 1 1/2 extra trips this year and have been able to bank half of our home points into next year.

If your need for more points is looking like a short term thing (OK, I should stop right there and realize how ridiculous that sounds on these boards) ... you might want to check out purchasing points for transfer. Remember it's only a 1x per year thing Disney allows so choose wisely as they say. But, you can do very well financially with transfers and can even find folk who need to trade out their current year points that YOU can bank if you wish (watch those deadlines though!) It's nice to have so many options once you own DVC isn't it? :D

I think I've read before its just the two of you vacationing? If so, 150 pts. is a perfect number. I own 40 pts. blt for studio stays for just the hubby and I. :thumbsup2

There is a topic on one of these boards about being in the 1000+ points club. Some of those people have over 3000 points. Think of those MF`s and then think.... sure I can add on another 50! We have 200 and usually end up borrowing. It depends on how many times you go and how long you wish to stay. You probably won`t be sorry if you add on another 50.

Go for it!:thumbsup2

Only issue is that I thought as of Jan 15th they raised the minimum purchase to 100pts for BLT add-ons.

That was only for about a month or so, than they changed the terms back to 25 pts. for ALL resorts.

Did you really expect any other response?

The people on this board have a serious affliction and they are more than willing to spread it to others.

You know, a BLT add-on sounds sort of interesting. Maybe I'll just check it out...

I have a good friend that always tells me he'll spend my money any way i want it spent! :rotfl2:

:beach: Well I am here at the pool of addonitis and the weather is beautiful. I have added on too many times to count over the 11 years I have been a member.

I say do what is best for you and your family but sounds like you are well on your way to swiming in my pool!!!!!:dance3:

Just completed an add-on at VWL, and if I must say so it feels pretty darn good. Sent the signed papers back today. I have decided to start my own 12 step program for add-on itis - Step 1 buy initial contract, step 2 - add-on, step 3 add-on again... :rotfl2: Can't wait to hit step 12!

You may of come to the wrong place if you are looking for some one to talk you out of it, but this is the perfect place if you are looking for encouragement.

This is not the place to look for a cure!!!:rotfl: We've got about 18 parts to our contract. Our most recent thoughts are that the incentives for BLT look pretty darn good!

Don't worry, you're not alone. :grouphug: We've just called our guide, too... ;)
