Hello,

I have PS for a CRT breakfast my first morning there and certainly don't want to be late!

Can anyone tell me approximately how long it takes to drive from the WDW Resort entrance to the Magic Kingdom parking lot and how long does take to walk slowly from the Magic kingdom parking lot to the entrance gate to the castle?

I'd appreciate any info....if there is a special way to go , etc.

Thanks all.

Well, we stayed last week in a Downtown Disney resort, so I guess we were actually inside the entrance already. We timed it, and I think it ended up taking almost 40 minutes from the time we left our hotel room until we were inside the Magic Kingdom. This included the following:

1. Drive to ticket & transportation center (the MK parking lot) where we parked in the very first row.
2. Walk to the monorail station.
3. Ride monorail to MK entrance. I believe the monorail made a stop at the Grand Floridian resort. Note that I don't believe it's possible to walk from the TTC to the MK entrance - you must take the monorail or boat.
4. Go through bag check and the entry turnstiles.

Assuming you're staying somewhere fairly close by, I'd leave an hour before the reservation time.

From the booths at the main WDW entrance (to MK), it's just a few minutes to the parking lot, BUT you then have to park and either walk or wait for a tram to take you to the Ticket and Transportation Center. There you can take a monorail to MK, which would take just a few minutes. Another option is taking the huge boat (allow time for loading and unloading a LOT of people if it's full).

It's another few minutes to get off the monorail or boat to the security check point (which could take a few minutes, or longer, if it's busy-- no wait if you have no bags or strollers) and then through the turnstile. Then a leisurely 5 minute walk to the castle, enjoying the magic of being on Main Street. Depending on where you park, how long lines are and the wait for the monorail/boat, it could be 30-50 minutes, and this may be underestimating, if you're not walking at an average pace.

We haven't done this for quite a while, so this is only a guess, but I wanted to let you know that there's many segments to this journey. As you can see, the parking lot isn't right by the MK entrance, as it is in Disneyland. If you've got an early priority seating, you may be getting there before the crowds, and I'm not sure if the boat runs then. I'm sure you'll get more responses.
