Help I need some ideas!!

Husband and I are heading this weekend to the Contemporary resort (staying on the 14th floor) for our 12th anniversary any suggestions for some romantic outings no kids this time just the two of us!!!

Sorry I can't give you any ideas....I have not been to DIsney without kids since college.... romance? whats romance?...HAHA

Actually..just laying together in a hammock on a beach sounds good to me!! LOL

Illuminations---and then walking reverse through the countries...so if you watch from France...head towards Mexico or vice versa.

You will end up with your own private moment in World Showcase--and it is super cool.

Buy a glass of wine just before illuminations and savor it--then enjoy it on your walk.


It was very blissful--even if we were pushing sleeping kids in a stroller.

I have to echo the stroll around WS. DH only joins us in WDW every 2 or 3 years & we love to stroll around WS hand in hand. Something about WS just brings out the romance in anyone (DH is not normally a hand holding kind of guy but even he succumbs to the WS aura)

Also, have you considered splurging on a Victoria & Albert's experience?

There's plenty of ways to find romance at WDW. One of my favorites is a later carriage ride at Ft. Wilderness or Port Orleans Riverside - just you and the clip-clop of hooves. If you do a later one at FW, sometimes you get the added benefit of the water parade going by from the beach.

How about dinner at CRT in the castle at MK? Or an Illuminations or Wishes cruise?

Just a few off the top of my head!!!

How about calling WDW-PLAY and asking if the breathless is available? Have an evening fireworks cruise for illuminations!

Dinner at the California Grill. It's at the top of the Contemporary Resort with a great view of the MK and the monorails entering and leaving the resort. If you time your ressie right, you can watch Wishes! from your table (if you're lucky enough to have a window table) or you can head out to the balcony to watch. They pipe in the music. Great food.

Thanks everybody for the great ideas. Will definitely try the carriage ride and the stroll around World Showcase. Luckily our room will be facing the Magic Kingdom so we will enjoy Wishes from our room.

My husband and I had our first trip without the kids earlier this month. (well, we honeymooned there 17 yrs ago, but were broke and stayed off site. - not the same) We just had so much fun on this trip!! We had dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse (fabulous) and at the Brown Derby (delicious).

It also felt like we just got to do so much more without 3 kids pulling us in every different direction. For the first time EVER, we were at the MK at opening!! We have gone to WDW regularly for the past 13 yrs - several times a year - and have really never been to a park earlier than 10:30am. (Our kids don't get moving in the morning!) I could not believe how empty the parks are earlier in the morning. That is my new strategy!!!

We were going to have a "relaxing" trip, but the weather was so gorgeous we were bitten by the park bug. It was wonderful not to be pushing a stroller!!
