Hi everyone, and thanks in advance for all your help! :sunny:

Anywho, I have been racking my brain all weekend trying to come up with a plan of action for our trip to the world on June 11th-June 17th.

First off, this will be my daughters' first ever trip to the Magic Kingdom, and DW and I will use this trip in lieu of having birthday parties for the two of them. Their birthdays are July 22nd and May 22nd, and they will be ages 5 and 2 respectively.

I am planning on either staying at POFQ or squeeze out a few more dollars and stay at the CR. We really don't want to stay at the Value resorts, because I've read and heard many stories of its small size and noise factor. We will also be taking advantage of the DDE.

We will be doing all the Disney parks and one day at Universal and Islands of Adventure.

My biggest dillema, I guess, is how do I make this trip special for my daughters since this is going to basically be their birthday party. What are some things that I can plan for the resorts to do for them? Are there any special things that each park does to recognize children's birthdays? and finally How do I plan our DDE/ADR so that the children have their special birthday time and DW and I can also enjoy something just for us?

I hope I haven't confused you all with this but I am just soooo excited about this trip and just want everything to go JUST RIGHT!

Thanks again in advance for your responses.

Have a "Magical" day!

Every single moment is going to be so wonder filled for your kids I am going to recommend something unexpected. Don't plan anything out of the ordinary. Trying to have a "Birthday Like" party there is like having an ice cream sunday with three different brands of hot fudge.... overkill. Maybe just have an early dinner at Norway and meet the Princesses or dinner at the Castle. You will not be cheating them... after all they are in Disney world!

I would definately do Chef Mickey's....they will give both kids a placemat signed by all the characters at CM.....they will also give them a cupcake with a candle and have a little celebration for them....DH and I did this on our Honeymoon, and it was a BLAST!!!!

You could also get them the "It's my Birthday Pin" to wear to all the parks!

:bday: to both of them in advance!!!

First of all, you guys are awesome parents! The trip in itself is all the gift they'll need!

I would try and get reservations to Cinderellas royal table for bfast or lunch, or there is another special princess tea party I think? Not sure where, but someone will help with that one I'm sure! You could surprise them and tell them that this is their special bday gift. Maybe buy them princess dresses and wrap them for gifts to 'open' before you go? They are very hard reservations to get, so try asap if you're interested.

Have fun!!!

there are princess things at the castle as well as in Epcot. If you check the boards and allearsnet.com you can get some feedback on the options and see which might be a better fit for your group.

Be sure to get them birthday buttons - you can get them at Guest Relations at any park. I got mine at MGM, and then walked into GR at AK for something else on my birthday, and they handed me one of theirs. It will get them some fun attention - at a store in DTD, one of the clerks got Goofy on the phone for me to hear a birthday message.

One of the threads on this board is Creative DISigns - there are some fun t-shirt designs floating around there (including personalized ones) that could add some fun and specialness to the day.

I have read about some folks doing a card or something from a favorite character being eager to see them on their birthday and then plan to see that character on the trip or on the day you are celebrating. When Stanley saw my birthday button, I got a birthday kiss - those buttons can create a lot of magic all on their own.

If they have favorite characters, there might be more ideas out there for tying those characters into your plans.

Have fun!

call the resort ahead of time and let them know you are celebrating the girls birthdays. it is NOT A GUARUNTEE - but sometimes they'll surprise you with balloons & cards signed by the characters delivered to your room :goodvibes

Id go to CMs for dinner the night you arrive, and get the girls b-day pins to wear all week. This will get them some extra attention, which is always nice :goodvibes Have fun, and let them help you plan, they will love helping with the *Important decisions :flower2:

Definitely let all the cast members know that there's a birthday. They will help to make it extra-special!

I agree that the trip itself is a birthday gift enough! Let them know about the birthdays--go to guest relations on Main Street at MK and get a button to wear all day. The CMs are great at doing spur-of-the-moment recognitions. (One of mine had his birthday there).

I also packed some surprises for my kids (gift bag of Disney dollars, disposable camera, snacks, glow sticks).

Also as a side note: you mentioned Univ. and IOA in one day. (or maybe you meant one day each). You may not be able to do them both in a day. As far as I know, there are no longer any one day two-park tickets for them. If you have to pick one, I'd say Universal Studios given the ages of your children.

For the last couple of years, I have been making my DDs trips special by having a surprise for her every morning. I had packed a few things that I brought with us, and a few things I bought at Disney and hid from her. Once she fell asleep at night, I'd put something in her "Princess" bag (just a party bag that I'd bought at my local Walmart), and she'd find it when she woke up in the morning! She loved all her special gifts - usually it was just some Disney dollars, or a Princess brush for her hair, a princess (or favorite character) nightgown, a disposable camera, etc.

A couple of times, I've had the Disney Florist deliver a basket on our first night there! When we'd come back to the room, the basket was there and she was so excited! I'd had it signed from "Mickey and the Gang", and one from "Princess Aurora"!

I'm trying to come up with some really special things for our upcoming trip this June!! It is so much fun to see their faces when they get their surprise!

And, I'd also recommend one of the character dinners for some special time too!

We'll be there June 8-18, so maybe we'll see ya there!!!! Good luck and have a great trip!!!! :wizard:

We were at MK for my DD's second birthday. We had all the characters sign a shirt for her. (they won't sign clothes that are being worn but will sign pretty much anything within reason you can hand to them). We used a white T-shirt and multi-colored Sharpies. She will probably only be able to wear it a few times and then I'll make it into a pillow.

Have a great trip!!!

Get them birthday buttons at each one of the parks...when you call and make ADR's mention it's their birthday celebration.....when you check in..mention their birthday again.....have a magical birthday celebration.....and after they are totally enthralled with the disney birthday ......get a babysitter and go out on the night by yourselves......disney has babysitters on site....!!! Have a blast!
