Help my 18mos old broke my digital camera. I need a new one quick. I use it everyday. There are so many to choose from I just can't pick. Plus I am on a budget making it even harder. I had the HP 435 and I liked it, but it wasn't the best. Here's what I am looking for...

Durable

nice quality photos

optical zoom (if possible)

quick shots

long battery life ( Ii have rechargable)

I recommend the Fuji FinePix series. I just "upgraded" to the 5.2mp A350 from the 3.2mp A210. Both are great cameras. Both have optical zoom, easy to use, great software. They do eat batteries (don't all dig cams?), but the rechargable batteries have worked great.

Here are 2 inexpensive options both kodak easyshare cameras. I have one and love it. Mine is 5 mp and my sis has a 4 mp (or is it 3.2? I cant' remember) and we both love them. She got hers from ecost. They are refurbished though.

My twins just did in my fujifinepix 3.2 and I got a good price on a

Kodak DX7630, 6.1 mega pixel, rechargeable batteries, easyshare bundle pack with camera dock at our local walmart. Was around 250 with tax and everything.

Very happy with the picture quality and so easy to use.

If you need something REALLY cheap, CVS (our local drugstore) is now selling disposable digital cameras and digital movie cameras. I think that you can order them online at CVS.com. I have no idea what the quality will be, but it is an interesting concept!
