Help!! Gift basket for 9 yr DS

This is our first trip to Disney. We are going May 8 to 14th. I have a (almost) 9 yr old DS and 18m old DS. We are staying at Shades of Green. I would like to have a surprise Disney themed gift basket(mainly for the 8 yr old) waiting in the hotel room when we arrive. I was going to contact the resort and see if they could do this. My husband thinks I am crazy to spend the money on it. I just think there is something about walking into the room and seeing this great basket of stuff to go through. Do you think this is a good idea and if the resort might be able to do this? If so should I request any certain items?
Any other suggestions??

Hi Goldengirl71 -welcome to the DIS ! On the last 2 'very special' trips for my little DNeph (7) I have ordered candy/gift baskets from Feralpeg here on the DIS - you can PM her for info and prices. She was wonderful to work with and delivered the baskets to the front desk - at RPR the basket was waiting in the room - at BWV they delivered it after we checked in - what big smiles they brought to DNeph - I'm afraid I've spoiled him forever !!

I never heard of any resorts who do this as a service and it would be EXTREMELY generous for someone to spend their vacation time shopping for and putting together a basket - it really is very time consuming.
