HELP - computer screen keeps jumping around!

HELP - my computer screen keeps jumping around. I thought it was from not having it plugged in but it does it just running on the battery. It jumps and also does "snow" like TVs do.

Any ideas on what it is and what to do??????????????

I've seen viruses that display symptoms like yours.

Have one of your kids wear tinfoil on their head and touch the side of the computer.



It worked on our old TV when I was 8.

It basically shakes. Like I said, the first guess was the power cord because my DH has had to repair and tape it because it doesn't go straight out from the computer, it is at an angle. He fixed that and secured it and we had no problems and then it started again. We took it off the power cord and let it run only on the battery and that worked for awhile and then it started "jumping" again.

Oh Help! I hate to take it to Geek Squad at Best Buy becauase I'm terrified how much they will charge just to diagnose the problem, but I might have too. From the people I've spoken too, the obvious problem was the power cord, but I think it is more than that now.

First, if you use any wireless mouse, keyboard, etc. unplug it and see if it gives you any interference. Also, it may come from devices near by, try a different location of the house/apartment.

If that don’t work, hook it up to an external monitor to distinguish bad display vs graphic card/integrated graphics problem.
