Help-Can I turn off "following" feature?

I just got a message that someone is "following" my posts. It is not someone I know or have had interactions with on the board so it makes me uneasy.
Is there anyway I can turn this feature off? I checked privacy but I didn't see anything.
Please help!

Nope. "Follow" is always there. But you can "ignore" someone by clicking on their avatar and clicking the "ignore" link.

Thank you! I think it must be the same issue. But I have never run into this person before and it makes me uneasy to all of a sudden have someone following me.

Well, if it's the same person, he's recently learned that not everyone wants to be followed. If you post on his thread, or message him that you don't want to be followed, he'll remove you. He's recently gone down from following over 1,000 people to 600 now.
