Hi there-
So we're not new to visiting WDW, but we've never done an AP discount before. They look really good! I've tried to figure out details on these boards, but there's so much detail that it's pretty hard.

We're hoping to go to WDW in February (NOT for President's Week!). When will AP rates be released? And how do we find them? It seems like you don't need the actual AP at this point...is this right?

We don't rent a car at WDW, so we just take a taxi or a bus service to the hotel. It seems like the main places for us to pick up an AP would be at Downtown Disney or at one of the parks. Will we need to stop at one of these before going to the hotel, or can we check-in first?

Also, if no one minds, what kind of AP rates can we expect at the Yacht or Beach Clubs, regular rooms or concierge, or for the GF Main Building? We love the YC and BC, but DH would like to try GF someday, but I would only stay in the main building (I wouldn't want to be in a separate building).

Thanks so much!!! ::MinnieMo

IF you get an AP rate, you will need a AP at check-in, but not when you make the reservation. When we have gone and needed to pick up our AP's, we get them at the airport Disney store.

Honestly, I wouldn't count on AP rates definately being available. There have been times, like last September when they weren't offered at all. It also seems like Disney is offering less rooms at the discounted rate. If the rates are released, it's usually only about a month or two beforehand. The best place to find out when they are available is here or http://www.mousesavers.com Also on mousesavers you can check out some of the rates that are offered with the AP discount.

Good Luck!

Is it possible for me to book a room using my AP for my neighbors? They will be going down for the first time and are staying at All Star Movies. I think they will be going in January and I would like to save them some money by booking with my AP. I will use my credit card to pay for the room in full and then they will pay me for it when they return. Is this possible?

The party checking in must be the people listed on the reservations, and they will need to show an AP of their own at check in. Someone staying in the room has to have an AP. Doesn't have to be everyone. Only one person having an AP with the reservation in their name will work.

I would suggest booking through a travel agent. We use The Magic For Less. The reservation can be made, and then when the codes come out the discount can be applied. The travel agent will do all the work. No phone calls for you. We booked our Dec. trip months ago. The AP rates were out a few days ago. We got an email letting us know that the AP rate had been applied. Our 118.00 room a night was now 79.00. Easiest way to book Disney. If no discounts are available, then you have a window to cancel. Your TA can let you know all of the details.
