Help Authenticating 1930's Mickey Desk on ebay

Hi everyone,

I've been collecting Disney merchandise for a while, and have found that I'm typically pretty proficient when it comes to finding information about Disney items, whether they be common or rare, but this one's got me stummped, so I'm seeking the help of others.

I won't post a link, as I know that's typically not allowed, but the item is listed on ebay as Kroehler Mickey Mouse Desk. Does anyone know anything more about this item? if you don't, do you know somebody who might? Any information would be very much appreciated.

For a kids desk the underside looks far too clean for me. Kids are generally messy and have dirty hands all the time. And chew gum!

Just my opinion...good luck if you decide to go for it.

Not sure what you want to know...

By the way the paint is coming off, it looks similar to a piece I have of the same vintage. I have no doubt it is authentic.

If you look up Kroehler in the Disney Licensees Listing from Tomart's Disneyana, Volume 4, it refers you to Atlas Developement Co., Ltd. of Richmond, CA. I don't know what the relationship was between the two companies. The license was held for 1934-35.

Other pieces in the collection included a Mickey bench, Mickey bench rocker, a Minnie Bookend Table, a Mickey clothes rack, Clarabelle Cow book shelf and a Pluto bench that would go well with the desk. There was also a crib, junior bed, tables, dresserrobe and a treasure chest.

What you are willing to pay is your business, but I have never seen any of these pieces priced anywhere near $1,000.
