Hell's Kitchen - Season 4 Official Thread

I have NO idea if it's 100% true, BUT I have a friend who works in the entertainment biz in LA and they said that they are mostly actors, and family members and friends of people on the Hell's Kitchen production staff

That's what I have read several places. Mostly actors and free food.

This season is kind of a yawner as far as chefs go. No real stand-out.

Agreed. I have this feeling it's gonna come down to the wicked witch Cory and Bubba Gump. I don't like either of them, but I really don't think ANY of them TRULY deserve it unlike past season's winners

I don't have a clear favorite this season. I think the next two weeks will show who is stepping up and who is stuck in first gear. I think the Cory and Christine have improved, Petroza seems to be a steady producer and Bobby has not gotten reamed out the past couple shows.

Jen grates on my last nerve. It's like having an annoying Chihuahua yapping all the time around the kitchen. She makes mistakes and doesn't want to own up to them. Like not putting the sauce on two of the dishes last night on the reward challenge. She outright said she didn't feel she had to apologize to her team for her mistakes which lost the challenge for them.

This year I really don't have a favorite and to me there doesn't really seem to be a front runner. I checked online betting places and most of them are putting Christine for the win.

I totally agree about Jen. Not the kind of person I would want to work with let alone let run a kitchen and work for her.

I also agree that I don't have a favorite this year. There is usually someone I am pulling for, but I don't have that same feeling this year. I'm just waiting for Matt and Jen to go.

I can't believe they have kept Matt around for so long, unless he is just there for pure entertainment purposes. Even after his spa day, the eyebrows make me laugh every time they show him. I do enjoy when Chef yells at him though. :rotfl2:
The best part of last nights show: Matt dripping in the pasta :scared:

I HATE Jen. She has convinced herself that she is a great chef, but that's about it.

What about the previews for next week? What the heck is up with Matt? Looks like Chef Ramsey will need to call in the guys in white jackets to pull Matt away. :rotfl:

And Rock is back. I am anxious to see what his restaurant looks like.

Finally!!!

Now I can watch in relative happiness.

Me too! He reminded me of a co-worker who I really don't like. If there's nothing wrong with him, he sure made a fool of himself on national TV. :confused3

Finally Matt is gone. That guy is a little off.:rotfl2: My son and I were LOL last night.

Finally!!!!! Wooohooooooo!

Now if we can just get rid of Cory I'd be fine with any of them winning! Gah what a loser. Get over your little grudge with Jen and thinking everything she does is fake. Just sounds like jealousy and fear to me!

I think Jen should be the next to go. She is way overconfident and is not listening to Chef Ramsey when he says something to her about her cooking. He's a world class chef and his restaurants around the world have won many awards, Jen. I think he knows what he's talking about. ::yes::

ITA. I was surprised that Jen picked Cory to go to Vegas, I thought she'd one of the men since she's had less time to make "enemies" with them. Cory should've seen it as the nice gesture that it was and try to mend a fence or two. I get that it's a competition and no one is really there to make friends, but they do have to live and work together to get to the end.

I agree. Plus, I didnt' see it as "being fake" I saw it as more of a Keep your enemies close kinda thing. I thought it was really smart. If Cory was with her, then she couldn't be plotting with everyone while she was gone.

Jen made friends with no one. I think she chose the one she figured would be easier to spend an evening with.

I was glad that Matt went home. Between the whining, sweating and general forgetfulness I cannot imagine how he survived so long :confused3

I dunno, I can't see any of these people as an executive chef. Maybe Pedrozza? Bobby just seems too slow. None of the girls impress me.

I'm right there with 'ya. Bobby is flying under the radar for now but, once there aren't enough contestants to hide behind, his lack of ability will show.
Not impressed with the girls. either. But here's the one area where I totally disagree. Pedrozza's consistent lack of cleanliness totally freaks me out! Several times he said that he's a 'dirty' cook, his area is never clean, he talks about how slovenly he is. Isn't cleanliness a fundemental requirement in any commercial kitchen? It's like running a day care center but saying "I'm not all that good with safety issues." My DH says "No matter how remarkable his food was, I couldn't bring myself to eat comfortably in his restaurant!"

I'd be more concerned if he were being "dirty" with trash and garbage and spoiled products. I don't really mind at all if someone has a Messy work area. I make a HUGE mess when I cook but it's not like I actually have gross garbage on the counters, it's just little chives that didn't make it off the cutting board, and spilled sauces and powders on my apron etc. So that doesn't really bother me too much, especially since he's working one specific station. Now if he were working say the veg station AND the meat station, then I might start to worry about cross contamination.
