Hell's Kitchen - Season 4 Official Thread

I would think that her actions on the show would speak louder than any letter would.
 
I think Petrozza will have job offers coming out of his ears - he'll be *fine*. Most of the rest of this bunch will wallow around in the semi-celebrity world & then fade into obscurity.

These people, when they do their sotto-voce confessionals to the Hell's Kitchen camera...do they THINK at all?!? Those straight-to-the-camera monologues might be full of private thoughts, but prospective employers see the back-stabbing, the whining, the blame-shifting, the out-of-control ego coupled with absurdly high self-esteem.

Finally I can read this thread again! I had teh show on DVR and was afraid to see the outcome before I got the chance to watch it.

I wonder the same thing about these characters. The exposure they have is incredible and can be the best resume builder that they could dream of. Instead some toss it to the wind and let their ego and their camera induced brain strain run their mouth.:sad2:

I am sorry that Christina won this but believe that Petrozza will be fine. He was able to be graceful in his defeats and never let his ego get in the way of teamwork and work ethic. I do agree with the PP who said that P's age had a lot to do with Chef Ramsey's decision, it is easier to train a young chef than retrain an old Chef. Also Petrozza was disorganized in the kitchen, this is a cardinal sin for Chef Ramsey, it affects the bottom line in lost time and product.

The sound went poof on mydvr of the show. Anyone know if it will re-air on some otern network??
 

Do you really think they stick their fingers into all the food that goes out of the kitchen to test it for temperature or whatever??? That also totally grossed me out. If that's what they do in "nice" restaurants, what do they do in greasy spoons? :scared1:

They really are just touching the top of the meat. A good chef can tell not only if the food has gone cold but if the meat is cooked to the degree that the customer has requested. This would hold true in a small restaurant or a fine dining establishment. I would be comfortable if there was a chef overseeing this aspect of the food because it signifies attention to detail. Hopefully it translate into proper food safety in the kitchen.

ETA- Not too long ago my family had dinner in a "nice" restaurant that had changed hands in the past 18 months. Our meat was overcooked, everyone of our steaks. This was the third time the chef sent out meals to us that were not cooked properly. We are not going back. I just cannot feel comfortable there, I know that there is no quality control so I am not going to trust that areas I cannot see are treated with care and safe handling procedures. If there is no oversight with teh finished product how can ther be oversight in food prep and food storage?
