hello newbie here,anybody up for 140's club?

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is doing well!! As far as I can see, no visual loss has been detected, but i know its happening because the scale says i lost 10lbs and my pants are really loose and so are my shirts!! I've also lost inches. I like measuring inches as opposed to weight because i feel its more accurate. I've lost 4 inches!

Week one of working out ends well. DH had that tickle in the back of the throat and so we slept in yesterday am and didn't push it, that was his workout day. We both worked out this morning! We did eat a veggie stirfry last night.:rolleyes1 Just felt like we needed some extra fuel with for our workouts. Scale says 5 pounds down this morning!:woohoo: I know this for what it is, we'll see how things go after our cleanse and we start eating for real again. But still...very encouraging.

I think protein bars are nasty too. I like Nature Valley Chewy trail mix bars for an eat it on the run type thing. 140 cal, some protein, some fat, satisfying and tasty.;)

Great job everyone, keep at it.:cheer2: Keep working out and drinking your water!

Nicole, hi! Glad to see you are still sticking to it. I thought my first 10lbs would be more noticeable too. But it started to show more around 15lbs. I got a lot of compliments then.

As far as protein bars. I recently tried the Clif bars. And I usually hate all protein bars. But the crunchy peanut butter ones were pretty good. I tried a few other flavors and didn't like them at all though.

Today i did my elliptical for 50 mins, gardened a little and I'm sure I'll do more later. It's a gorgeous day today. Hope everyone enjoys their day!!!
 
Hey everyone!

Started a new idea this week...those early ams, yeow:scared1: , I don't think that is sustainable. DH has to work longer hours for a while too...so new plan...I was trying to start an exercise schedule I could keep up once DS is out for the summer, but I decided that until then I would work out during the day. Much much easier. So, worked out yesterday, but then started to feel that throat tickle. I'm taking it easy today and hoping this doesn't blow up on me.

Nicole, sometimes it takes getting new clothes to really notice.;)
Fofina, great job getting on the eliptical for 50! Do you love to garden or it is a necessity...I love to garden myself.

My weekend was pretty uninspiring,other than the weather:banana: I was pretty darn lazy alllll weekend. But then I got right back to it and did Curves on Monday:banana: The dieting is going pretty good other than getting all my fruits and veggies and my protein. But that's something to work on,not gonna change over night! I'm trying to think of this time as a life change not a diet for a couple months. The slower I am at losing the longer it will take to get back on. I'm down to 38 days now before Disneyland,I am so freaking excited! I tried a pair of 14 pants on over the weekend to see if I could maybe take them in for the trip and OMG they still fit,so that was depressing:confused3 But I have to stick with it! I have 17 more possible times to go to workout before June 10th. So I'm leaving my bathing suit try on session until the last couple weeks so I don't have a fit!:scared1: and lose my motivation from disgust! LOL:laughing: Anyways,have a great week ladies and keep up the awesome work:thumbsup2
 
Hi! Sorry I guess I haven't been on the boards this week.

I was good and still did my aerobics every other day. Wearing my pedometer and getting over 10,000 steps in addition to exercise every day too. And sticking to the diet. No loss. I'm trying not to focus on that too much. It will have to come off if I keep it up.

Jmsadams, I love to garden! Of course i don't love to weed! But I planted gladiolas, liatrus and a few daylilies(not that I need more) this week. And some heavier work as well. How are your mid day workouts going? I'm a SAH mom and so I try to do extra activity with my kids in addition to working out. They are always up for a little running around!

VWCat, Down to 34 days!!! I'm excited for you! Wish I could go! Definitely hold off on the bathing suit try on! I need to get a new one. My last year one I was 20+lbs heavier. But I really don't think I'm going to like any bathing suit on me yet. So, I'm holding off. Keep getting into curves!
 
I haven't posted because I haven't done anything! I worked out on Monday last week, but I started to really get sick, so I didn't work out after that. Then Saturday, I was shopping with the family and got a horrible, lasting pain in my side. My MIL had her appendix out and they all worried I was having that problem so, FIL and MIL came over after DS was in bed and DH and I went to the ER to see what the deal was. 2.5 hours later, they have to conclude that the pain was from a cyst on my ovary. I have to make a Dr appt today for followup care. I am just about over the head cold, but now I have this concern. I am hoping that it is not a major deal, most cysts are common, but I am concerned because of the pain. Soooo, hopefully with the ER referal, I'll get an appt today or tomorrow and find out more. And that's my unfortunate, sad story.

Great job fofina.:goodvibes Sometimes it just takes a while for our bodies to react to our routines and decide that, yes, it is okay to get rid of some fat stores. When this has happened to me in the past, it is like I suddenly lose a few pounds overnight whereas I would lose next to nothing for a time preceding.

I love to garden too. We lived in Kansas for almost five years. That's where we bought our first house and it was new construction and it was a dirt lot. I grew up in CA will so many growing days a year that I was very excited for the challenge to put in a yard from scratch. It was wonderful. So I learned a lot about prairie, full sun, drought tolerant gardening. It is a whole different story in Houston! We bought an 18 year old resale with a somewhat established yard. The problem is I don't really like what's in it:scared1: But I am maintaining it until I can figure out what I would like better. I am hopeful for some major rework in the front beds this fall.

VWCat-You're almost at the one month mark!:banana: I read somewhere else on the boards that someone can't believe they are already wishing their summer away b/c of when their trip is planned.:rotfl: That's me! I would wait too on the bathing suit until about a week before. Give yourself the longest time possible and keep going into curves!:goodvibes

Hello ladies,sorry haven't posted,got a bit of the PMS:rotfl: and feeling unmotivated. I went to Curves on monday and plan on going again this afternoon. On monday I stepped up my workout to a more advanced workout. I was going to do that last month but hurt my ankle. So now I have to do a certain amount of reps on the machines and not go under and totally slow down on the recovering boards. She told me that if my heartrate is up too high I won't be burning fat just gaining muscle. So we will see if it helps take off this fat faster:banana: I'm down to 31 days!!! Oh yeah and I went out last week to try on clothes and I am not a size 12 yet,too bad they don't make a 13 :rotfl2: My waist is a size 12 but the hips and thighs are still a 14:confused3 I'm deformed..hehehe Well I hope everyone is sticking to it and having a great week. It's nearly summer:love: Time to do some gardening today:woohoo:

Jmsadams, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well! I hope you were able to get in with your Dr. and find out what was going on. I know someone who just had 13 fibroids removed. One was the size of a cantaloupe and the other 12 were the size of golfballs. Hope your's justs bursts on it's own. Maybe it did and that was what all the pain was from? Good luck! Hope you are feeling better soon!

Vwcat, How is the advanced workout going? It's more reps at the same intensity? Is that correct? I can totally groove with you on the pms not feeling motivated connection. You wouldn't be a girl if you didn't feel that way! 30 days huh!!!! You are going to have so much fun. I was reading the Disney rewards card little quarterly magazine they send and it was listing off all the different Pixar rides at Disneyland. I want to go on them! Monsters and the Nemo subs. I also never got to go on Indiana Jones or Pinocchio. they were closed last time I was there. Oh well, ride for me!

I've been pretty good. yesterday I did aerobics again. I'm thinking maybe I should increase my weights. It's not hard for me. I went for a quickie walk with the kids today and did yoga. Tomorrow i want to do the step aerobics again in the morning because after that we are going to Hershey Park in Pennsylvania. I'm excited. I haven't been before. It's been a long time since I drove anywhere for 7 hours though.

Yeah it's more reps,but no more time so I totally have to go hardcore to make it. I went today for the first time since Monday and I was not going very fast. I find if I miss a couple times it's really hard to get back into the groove again. So I went today and I got my weight and measurements done.
I'm down 5 pounds since April 17th and 2.5 more inches. The wierd thing is that I only lost it in certain areas not allover like the first month: my bust which is already freaking small-1 inch,my waist(also not big)-1/2 inch,my hips-3/4 inch. But my arms which are gross are still the same,my gut(abdomen) still the same and my thighs which are also gross are still the same:rotfl: wierd The weightloss is cool though as I'm pretty sure I got the pms bloat. The arm and thigh thing are bugging me as they are the parts of my body I hate the most. So altogether I have a loss of 9 and a half inches,7 pounds,and down 2 and half percent body fat:woohoo: since March 12th.

hello everyone:goodvibes I'm still plugging away,haven't been to curves much tho,too much stuff to do and too many excuses not to go:rotfl: I haven't pigged out too much tho,my man bought chips and pie so the past couple days I've had a bit of both. I did go to curves yesterday and hurt my arm so I guess I gotta baby it the rest of the week as the trip is coming up in 17 days:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I've been buying my trip clothes and it has been very depressing as my top and bottom are even more deformed now,size 10 on top and 14 below. I've decided to do longer swim trunks and a bikini top for my swimsuit as my thighs are still in bad shape and cellulitey:banana: :rotfl2: :cool1: I'm just waiting on my trip tickets and such and then I can finish up my shopping. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying Springtime:dance3: :cheer2: :grouphug: !!!
 
So finished my clothes shopping today. Holy smokes it has been hard let me tell you. Lots of tears. I've have been to Curves umm,maybe 3 times in the past 2 weeks. I have been mad at myself because I'm not the size or shape I had wanted to be for my trip. All the tops I try on are too tight on the tummy or hips and the same with dresses. Fits in the chest and waist but then it goes down hill when it hits the stomach and hips and thighs:lmao: I bought a new swimsuit, a pair of board shorts(bermuda) and a bikini top. Hides the problem areas nicely:cool1: So it's down to 11 days now:banana: :woohoo: :yay: Time to concentrate on getting those last minutes things done. Getting a facial tomorrow,hopefully that will help with this stress zit outbreak I have right now:scared1: I hope everyone is doing alright. Let me know how you all are!:grouphug:
 
Yay!!! 11 Days! You are going to have so much fun! My sister is going to Disneyland in Sept. And I so wish I could go with her. She hasn't been since she was 5 so for her it is like she has never gone. All kinds of different and fun stuff there. Sorry about the clothes shopping. I hate it as well. I've had to find dressy clothes for a convention I'm going to this weekend. And it hasn't been fun. I've moved from the plus size stores into regular stores. But I stillneed and XL for the ****s and stomach. And some stores don't carry it. Although on a more positive note. I ran my first 5K last weekend! I had to walk some of it, of course, but I finished in 37 minutes. Just under 12 min per mile. I was all proud of myself until I saw the pictures!!! YUCK, I need to lose some more weight. I looked so fat. I've been doing aerobics and weight training so hopefully I'll start to see some loss!

can i join you? i really really need to get back to 140 -- that's about 10-12 lbs for me. my clothes are not fitting, i have a tire around my middle; and the summer social eating is getting the best of me!!

So there goes my vision of what I wanted to look like on my trip:rotfl2: :rotfl: Oh lordy. Hey VWCat!! Have a wonderful time! You are going to have so much fun! Just remember a little Tyra advice for your pictures...Suck in the tummy and stick out your butt(for head on shots!) and your tummy will look smaller! I'm still trudging away. Doing step aerobics with some weights. Went away last weekend didn't stick to diet and managed to come home weighing the same. So that is an accomplishment for me!

Sorry Ohmom for not welcoming you to the club. As you can see we are not too talkative here! I'm still in the 160's so 140's is far, far from here!

Have fun on vacation!!! I know what you mean about the hanging in. That seems to be my constant state. Had an ok day yesterday. Didn't eat any carbs at all, except fruit. And then today I made chocolate chip cookies for DD's dance recital. And had 3. Not terrible. But I'm really trying to see if the no carb thing will give me the jumpstart I need to start losing again. I've been stuck since Feb. And it gets really hard to stay on program when you aren't seeing any results! KWIM???
