Hello...My Name is Minnie's Pal & I stink at CVSing...

I'm still learning at CVS also. But this week when I went in, the cashier (maybe just got a bad one) wouldnt take a 2.00 coupon for Advil b/c it said Advil PM, not just regular Advil. I've never ran into this before. She said CVS was getting strict on what coupons they take. GRR, she wouldnt even scan it, I know it would scan b/c I used one the other day and it worked. Also a coupon on bandaids she wouldnt take b/c they had bandaid antibiotic on it... bandaid is bandaid to me!
One thing I dont know is will a new EB book come out every month? Like this month is has childrens advil on it for 5.79 with 5.79 EB. Anyone know?

Yes, that is the monthly ECB deals. A new book comes out on the first of each month.

Well, you do have to make sure you are using the coupons on the correct products. For example, Advil does put out coupons for both regular advil and advil PM. So you should use them appropriately. If the coupon said, "Good on ANY advil" I would use it on Advil PM. If it said "Good on ANY advil PM" I would only use it for the PM version.

Many times the more fancy version (like bandaid antibiotic) costs most so the coupons are higher value. So they intend for you to use that on the higher cost item.

You can usually tell what the manufacturer intended for the coupon. For example, tylenol usually has a page in the circulars that has a strip of coupons on the bottom. There might be one for Tylenol, one for Tylenol PM, one for Tylenol cold and sinus, etc.

I've been CVSing for a while now, but it's hard for me to get super small OOP amounts since our CVS (and all our other grocery/drug stores) doesn't except internet printable coupons. I've been loving the $2/$10 purchase coupons that are good until the end of Sept. They've been helping me save more money even though it means breaking my orders up into smaller ones. I did 4 different transactions the other night that were all a little more than $10 to start. After the $2/$10 Q and then the $2 CVS skincare Q that makes the handsoap free (a nice filler!), then ECB's, I was paying around $3 or less per $10+ order, plus earning ECB's back. Not as low as the experts, but definitely a big savings.

I find I end up missing things or goofing up my orders and not getting the lowest OOP when I take DS3 with me  .
