Height requirement ?

We are considering doing a trip over labor day, we are only 2.5 hours away.

My DD measures 42 1/8 in her every day sneakers, how are they on measuring? I am not looking at cheating the system, just trying to determine if she has any chance or not. If not we may just wait a bit more.

When she was just 40 at Disney she had no problem except on Soarin she make it on till 41 for some reason. She clearly hit her head on on all the other 40 but that one didn't come close.

Universal tends to have higher height requirements and sticks to it. Rides start at 42 and some even are 52. I would circle what is above 42 and mark what is 42 and see what would be available in the event she can't ride. 1/8 is enough that I would be cautious on if she could ride or not because things like concrete vs grass or slouching vs standing up tall could cause the no pass.

I would go to the Universal Orlando website. Go to Plan your visit drop down and choose Ride Height requirements and they have a list of all the height restrictions for all the rides for both IOA and Universal.

They are not all 42". For example at Universal

Race Through New York is 40"

Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster is 36"

Simpsons is 40"

ET 34"

Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is 40"

Transformers is 40"

Amazing Adventures of Spider-man 40"

Skull Island: Reign of Kong 36"

Flight of Hippogriff 36"

42 inches is a great milestone to reach for kids. The 40-inch rides include Minions, Transformers, Simpsons and Spiderman and at 36 inches that includes Flight of the Hippogriff and Kong. At 42 inches Gringotts, Popeye, Men in Black and Jurassic Park get added. My son's 7 and staffers were pretty consistent about measuring for the most part. I bought him some thick-soled shoes when he was within a hair shy of 42 inches and he breezed by all day.

Yea I have looked at them, just was wondering if they are consistent with measuring which sounds like they are.

During our 4 day trip last week, my son was never measured by a staff member. He is 45". My daughter is 54" and she got measured by the staff at the Dr. Dooms.

My son is very small for 11. He just hits 54" in his shoes. I understand the need for the height requirements, I just hate the uncertainty of it when the kids are near the mark. It is very disappointing to wait in line and then be too short, or even worse, get by the first person who measures, and then stopped by the second. Or tall enough in the morning, but not in the afternoon. I wish there was someway to measure upon entering and that be the end of it.

My 11 year olds are small too and are 53.5" without shoes. Apparently you're marginally taller in the morning though.
