Height Requirement questions

Not trying to "cheat" or put my child in high heels or anything.

My DD is 4, and she's 39 and 3/4 inches tall barefoot. With shoes she's a smidge over 40 and our trip is in 3 months.

Do they measure with shoes on? Should I make Fast Passes thinking she can ride the 40 inch rides? Should I prepare her that she may not be able to ride? Or anyone's kid hit a growth spurt and grow an inch in 3 months? lol

They generally measure with shoes on. My DD has never been asked to remove her shoes to be measured. However, it could happen. I would make FPs for her but prepare her that she may not be able to ride...just in case. I will say that when DD was approximately 40 inches...she was once able to ride Soarin' and the next time she tried to ride during that same trip, she was too short.

They are measured with shoes. The only way your child might be asked to remove their shoes are if they are clearly platform type shoes. I've heard they don't bat eyes at things like cowboy boots but platform sneakers and sandals usually throw up red flags.

Okay yeah I've never seen them make kids take off shoes but if they saw it looks suspicious I guess they could. Nobody would gain anything but injury by sneaking by. But if your kiddo is 40 with normal soled shoes I'd plan on that.

As for the growing yes it's possible to put on an inch in 3 months. My daughter put on 2 inches one summer. Make sure they get plenty of sleep. That always helps with growth spurts. She had lots of fast growth spurts. She was 36" by 2 years 3 months she cold right Goofy's Barnstormer but she refused unless I went and I was embarrassed I might not fit so I wouldn't and she wouldn't ride with her dad or uncle.

She's 5'7"+ now at 12(just shy of 13) so of course she can ride anything now.

They measure with shoes on. My DS was 39 1/4 inches barefoot in February and with his sandals on he just hit 40 inches and was able to ride the rides that required them to be 40 inches tall.

People also say make sure she knows her head has to hit the bar.

generally with shoes on although i've heard of some CM's asking that shoes be removed if its a flip flop.
be sure she wears sneakers and that shouldn't be an issue.
prepare for the worst but hope fo the best.
so yes prepare her but also yes make fastpasses.

Same shoes but later in the day on a different day. We also kept reminding her to stand straight but she didn't always do so. She wasn't happy but it happens. We had prepared her that she might not be able to ride.

My almost three year old is 38 with shoes. She made it onto Snow White (barely).

My daughter hates the height measurements. She tends to get nervous about the bar bumping her head - I realized that was my fault because I kept telling her to bump the bar onto the top of her head. Whoops.
