Heath Ledger's funeral to be protested

When one of them dies, there should be a HUGE party at the funeral celebrating the earth being free of such a hateful person.

I'm in!!!

Who's with me?

It's too bad DSS can't come up with reason to take those children out of there and at try and de-program them.

What should I bring? I'll dance on the grave of those fools wearing a feather boa!!! (unless it's in Kansas in winter-then there will have to be much more clothing involved)

Didn't they recently get sued? I guess that didn't slow them down any. How vile!!
They were sued in Maryland by the father of a soldier whose funeral they protested. The father won. Then they came back to Maryland to protest outside of the funeral of a family (mother and 4 children, one an infant) who were killed in Ohio by a drunk driver. Their sin? Adultery. The parents had been divorced and remarried. I was irate.

Please don't associate The Phelps Cult with anything remotely associated with God. They represent the opposite. Hate, Bigotry, abuse, greed. They turned their backs on God along time ago and serve only themselves. They use the name of God because they not only feel it justifies what they do, but also because it makes them feel superior to everyone else.

They are sick people and I have no pity for them.

I would love to be outside Fred Phelps funeral with signs and shouting things at his family, but then you realize that it wouldn't make any difference to them at all. It wouldn't open their eyes, it would only justify what they do. Thinking that everyone else out there hates them because they are so perfect and of God (which couldn't be further from the truth) and that out minds are full of satan. :headache:

I know that Fred has held that cult together since it started. A couple of the kids have broken away and have amazingly normal and happy lives. I hope that when Fred dies it releases the hold that it has the on the others and they are able to break free and get away from the hate and control that he pushed on them.

I hope that the memorial service goes okay and that Heath's family is able to moarn in quiet and respect.

What I find scary (and somewhat amusing) is that 80% of the members of that group are family members. Imagine what it was like at their Christmas dinners?:scared1:

I really do wish I could laugh at that level of ignorance, but it really just makes me sick. :sad2:

RIP Heath (L)

Man, that WBC is a hateful misguided bunch. They do so much harm and absolutely zero good. I don't wish death for anyone, but the sooner old man Phelps is out of position to "lead" the better.

Exactly.

Westboro Baptist is essentially a variant of the KKK minus the hoods. They claim that their animosity towards a particular group (Westboro targets "sexual sinners", the Clan was racial) is Biblically grounded, which is absolutely false. Even if you could say that what they fight against is biblically wrong - for example, adultery - their response is un-Christian to the extreme.

Unlike the Clan, however, they actually have the nerve to show their faces. Which, perhaps, is even more proof that they are all insane.

BTW, to the posters who have said that they hope these people rot in Hell, I disagree. The greatest thing that could happen to them is for God to take them into heaven, and have them spend eternity with everyone THEY said would go to Hell. That's poetic justice.

I hadn't heard of this one. Horrible.

I do agree with other posters that they need to be ignored. Totally. Then they can't get their kicks.

The children have been so brainwashed that you can't blame them. When they become adults they have to take personal responsibility though. My shock was more over the outsiders who have joined. There was one man in the documentary who came to do a story on them years ago, and stayed.

The man who did the documentary I saw kept working on the oldest teen girl. She seemed intelligent, but was so versed in what to say. It was like every word out of her mouth was memorized. And she smiled every time she told the man he was going to hell. SMILED! It truly made her happy.

I was wondering if the grandfather had been kicked out of the military or something. That seemed to be the root of his hatred. He was also gleefully planning to protest Billy Graham's funeral, since Billy is going to hell!

Sorry, I won't be in on that party. I do not even want to recognize that man in any way, shape, or form. Hopefully I will be able to muster up some pity for that man when he dies because he will have a lot to answer to God for that he did in "God's name". I do not think a just God will take that very lightly.

While in college, they came to our small town to protest a gay/straight alliance formed at the school. It was about 5 adults plus young kids. They had signs that I wouldn’t want anyone under 18 to read and dragged and spit on the American flag.

As our school is always looking for entertainment, about ½ of the students showed up to watch. It turned into a football game like atmosphere with us calling chants and ragging them. We even had some girls come out as the characters of Wizard of Oz with a guy dressed up as Dorothy and a sign that said “You’re not in Kansas anymore”.

But if they were ever to come back down here, I would ignore them because all they want is attention.

It’s a shame how much hate there is in the world.

I believe he came here to protest at Dr. Falwell's funeral. From what I heard though it was only a handful of people or something. It was just sad. I know people have differing opinions of Dr. Falwell, even in our town there is a split between those that loved him and those that hated him. Everyone has a right to their opinion I suppose. But in the end, it was a funeral and there was a family that was grieving.

One of these days someone is going to flip and shoot them dead.

I was thinking that earlier but was hesitant to mention it. If I were on the jury, there's no way I'd convict a grieving family member who lost it and emptied a clip into them.

OMG that's funny! :lmao: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :worship:

Really? What was their problem with Falwell?
